    About Andrew S.

    Andrew S. began playing the classical guitar at the age of 9, electric guitar at the age of 14, and jazz guitar at the age of 16. He holds a Bachelors degree in Jazz Guitar from UNC Greensboro (2011) and a Masters of Music in Jazz Guitar from the Manhattan School of Music (2014). While in graduate school at MSM, Andrew played in the Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz Philharmonic, and the Brazilian Combo. As a music teacher, he has served as the Head of the Guitar Department at the True School of Music in Mumbai and as a faculty member with MSM Sunday Program, the MSM Outreach Program, and the Roanoke Jazz Institute. He also substitute teaches for the MSM Precollege. Following a summer of teaching and performing around Mumbai Andrew has returned to NYC. Currently, Andrew is performing around NY with a new Jazz Organ trio and substituting with Mike Sailors’ Lowdown Stompers who play traditional Dixieland jazz and Swing Era jazz. Andrew also plays the Tenor Banjo.
