Andrew is a Ubiquitous Music-certified instructor with knowledge of many different aspects of music: whether you want to learn transcription, theory, technique or just want to rock, he can help you to achieve your goals.
Hello! I'm Andrew (but you knew that) and I play guitar!
I have been teaching for just over 4 years, and have studied through both the Ubiquitous Music curriculum and private instruction. I have studied music theory and composition at Palomar college as well as privately with a graduate from the Berklee School of Music, and have studied arrangement techniques, sound engineering and reinforcement, and mixing techniques with a student of Blink 182's producer. My guitar education has been more widely varied, and includes lessons with a Musician's Institute graduate, a Berklee School of Music graduate, and several other professional guitarists in varying fields and styles.
*** Lesson Details ***
I understand that not everybody learns the same way, and I will do my best to accommodate my students' varying methods for assimilating knowledge. Ultimately, the student is the deciding point when it comes to progress on an instrument, so a certain amount of dedication to practice is necessary, and I will push all of my students to do their best in order to help them advance. Depending on your proficiency and the type of lessons you are taking any of several textbooks may be necessary, however much of the material covered will be given as handouts or pre-printed packets.
