NOTE: Due to various health advisories relating to the Corona virus, I will only be doing online lessons for the immediate future. Hi, my name is Andy, and I am a classically-trained singer, composer, pianist and teacher! I studied Music Composition, Voice and Piano at American River College and CSU: Northridge, where I got my BM in Composition. While in LA, I sang opera professionally, and I have a strong background in community musical theatre and concert bands (as a classical percussionist). I have been teaching privately for 7 years now, and I love it! I enjoy working with beginners of all ages, and have a special place in my heart for "late starters", as I got a late start myself (not studying music until I was in my 20's). I'm living proof that it's never too late to begin your musical journey! When it comes to kids, I am a big fan of positive reinforcement; I think playing piano should be fun and kids should be given lots of support and empathy as they go through "growing pains". Parental support is especially key when it comes to online lessons, so I always try to keep parents in the loop. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have further questions; I don't bite!

Andy is great with our 3 kids (10, 7, and 5). He customized the lessons for them, while finding the right balance between structure and allowing them to explore the instrument. His patience and sense of humor provide a warm learning experience for our children. We are happy to have him as their teacher!

Awesome first lesson! A perfect fit for my piano goals! Andrew is really nice and asked a lot of great questions to figure out what I needed. I can’t wait until my next lesson!
