I have studied in San Jose State University's Percussion Performance program. I have taught College Marching band for 5 years, High School Drum line for 3 years, and have performed in various bands and ensembles throughout Northern California. Currently I play for an acoustic rock quintet and record for EverTree, a local folk rock group. I place a strong emphasis on practice and technique. Students can expect to gain real-world knowledge in the art of percussion performance. *** Lesson Details *** MATERIALS - Students are responsible for the purchase of their own books, sticks, and other materials needed for the lessons they are receiving. The instructor will assist in referring students to where they can obtain these items, however I am not responsible for providing them personally. Exceptions will be made on an as needed basis. PRACTICING – The instructor will determine how much practice is ideal for each student and will encourage students in their practicing. Nevertheless, once the instructor is gone it is up the student to do their own practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time. Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their student's practice.
