During my studies at the University of Central Florida, I successfully completed two teaching internships at the middle and high school levels. During the first internship, I observed and assisted in 8th grade Pre-IB American History/Civics classroom where I developed and delivered creative lesson plans for a diverse classroom of learners. During the second internship, I prepared and implemented innovative lesson plans for high school students in Honors World History, American History, and Leadership. I also practiced the use of cooperative learning, reciprocal teaching, and close reading.

The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification will help you prepare for the unexpected, and is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. After becoming certified, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
