Hello! My name is Allen and I have been playing guitar for about 5 years and I would love to help you get started or learn some more advanced techniques. I have a more extensive background in piano with 10 years of experience. Some other instruments I have played include the clarinet, bass clarinet, and trombone. In my free time, I love playing volleyball and basketball as well as fishing and playing video games. I started out playing electric guitar but now I primarily play a finger picking style on my acoustic guitar. I have taught many friends many different songs and techniques over the years on guitar. Having two brothers much younger than me, I am great around kids and have taught my brothers and other children as well. Teaching a skill such as guitar is not an easy task. Plenty of people offer to teach songs and tunes that sound great but to me, learning the fundamentals of guitar is more important than simply strumming out a tune. I concentrate on finger movement and melody as well as different picking styles and techniques. Good hand positions and finger skills will benefit you as a student more than playing Wonderwall over and over again. Learning fantastic sounding songs comes with time and patience.
