Hello! I am a 25 year old professional guitarist. In May of 2014 I will have graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a degree in jazz performance. While my degree and formal training has been in jazz, I love to play blues, rock, pop, and pretty much any style, as long is the music is good! I first started teaching about 5 years ago, at a small lessons store in Missouri, where I had a great time teaching lessons until I moved to Boston in the fall of 2011. My teaching philosophy is completely based on my own experience of learning the guitar. I often hear music teachers telling students what they "should" or "shouldn't" be practicing. This is something that you will never hear from me. When a student is having a problem, 99% of the time I have gone through the same thing! In this case, I will simply explain to the student how I overcame that problem myself, and what I tried that worked, or didn't work. I like to really get to know my students, what their goals are, what type of music they listen to, and what type of music they want to play. Since I personally never spent much time practicing music that I didn't like, I can't expect my students to either! For this reason, is very important to me to find music to teach that the student is excited about. If you have any other questions for me, please let me know. I look forward to meeting you!
