Lesson Details

Private lessons are usually an half hour. During this time we will be working on fundamentals. Which is how to read and understand the music that is front of you. One of the most important goals that I impress on the student is learning how to be their own teacher for lifelong learning. Performance skills will also be covered.

My name is Alan M. and I have been teaching drums privately since my senior year of College while attending the University of Colorado, Boulder. Many of my students are still playing today.

I have also taught in the public schools. Having taught General, Instrumental music for over 10 years. This gives me a unique perspective at what is being taught in the Public and Private school systems.

My professional experience has included playing in local productions of musical theater. I also ... have done many private engagements from Jazz quartets, Big Band, and Orchestras.
