Overview

Hello, I work as an active musician and music instructor in and around the Tampa Bay Area. I've earned a B.S. in Music Education from USF and I have experience in just about any type of percussion/drumming you can think of. Additionally, I teach piano, guitar, music theory, music studio and songwriting.

Currently I'm working on a Christian songwriting and band project that communicates the gospel message and also gives good reasons for why we should regard it as true.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am as strict or laid back as you need me to be. This depends entirely on what your goals are--both the goals of the student and of the parent (if a young student).

For drums, I use my own curriculum called "Crash Course: Drumming Manual." This is a 'one-size-fits-all' book that I really believe captures the right balance between fundamentals and content you can use to go out and play. It is available at Amazon.com.

For Piano, Adam uses the "Alfred’s Basic Piano Library: All-in-One Course" for kids and "Alfred's Basic Adult All-in-One Piano Course" for adults.

For guitar Adam uses "Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Complete Edition: Books & CD's 1, 2 and 3."

When studying with Adam, expect to receive a combination of formal and practical instruction. Some of the content is very "by-the-book" while at the same time Adam feels it is important for his students to learn to apply what they learn to a real life performing situation.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room two guitars, bass guitar, separate room for drum set with seating for parents.

*** Specialties ***
For drums I do it all. I have particular expertise in jazz, indie, folk, & progressive rock.

For guitar I work mainly with an acoustic and specialize in finger picking technique.

For piano I have a more modern approach that emphasizes theory, playing by ear and improvising.
