I believe that everyone can sing, it is just a matter of learning how to use your unique instrument. From a very young age I was sharing my love of the arts with others as a performer. I grew up with an immense appreciation for all forms of art and found music to be the ideal way to express myself. My extensive education and performance experience has allowed me to cultivate my skills and knowledge so that I can best support each student on their own unique journey of cultivating their authentic singing voice. As a teacher I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to support students both in my studio and through online lessons, providing the positive and supportive guidance and experiences they need in order to cultivate their own musical gifts.

*** Lesson Details ***
My intention for each student is to support him or her, to the best of my ability, in finding and cultivating their voice, as well as their musical and performance abilities. As a teacher, I keep a healthy balance between professionalism and making learning fun, inspiring and experiential. I design a specific curriculum for each student based on their specific goals and intentions regarding their voice so that each lesson focuses on them and their unique needs. It is extremely important to me that students of all ages have a positive experience of music in their lives and I provide fun and encouraging performance opportunities for those students who wish to participate. I have extensive experience working with individuals who may have fear or anxiety about singing, speaking or expressing themselves to others. I am able to assist these students as they move past their fear and hesitation and truly claim their voice. They learn to cultivate and appreciate their own ability to express themselves in the world with confidence and ease. My goal is to recognize and support each student's potential, helping to give them confidence, direction and motivation on their unique musical journey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michelle is by far the best. I have been a teacher for 15 years. I know a good teacher when I meet one. Michelle is without question an excellent teacher. She teaches. She knows her students. She respects their individuality. She brings the lesson to their level. My 10 year old loves to sing a lot more now than when she started 3 months ago. And above all, not only is Michelle an excellent teacher; she is an excellent person. A person of great character. We are very fortunate and honored to have her as a teacher. February 14, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic voice teacher! Michelle is teaching my nine year old daughter voice. She is fabulous with her, and I'm so glad she was the teacher we selected. She is patient and puts everything in terms my daughter can understand, and is consistent with her lessons, building on the themes each time. December 9, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic! Working with Michelle has been amazing! I was having trouble finding a teacher locally who could fit with my schedule and would really push me vocally. She's helped me make incredible improvements in my singing voice in only a few months. Also, the fact that's in online and I can reschedule things easily has been amazing. We've rescheduled and adjusted many times and that has been so helpful. She's really encouraging and positive, while still pushing me and looking for areas where I can grow. Since I've worked with her, I have auditioned for and landed a role in a musical. It's been a blast and I can highly recommend Michelle! November 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Michelle is an exceptional teacher that has helped our daughter develop and protect her voice. Our daughter came out sining when she was born. Though we were told that she was too young to take singing lessons (9 y/o), we were concerned about protecting her vocal cord. Regardless of the fact that she wasn't taking lessons she was singing all the time and would often choose broadway pieces or long winded pop songs. For the most part as a biased parent we felt she had talent, but could tell when she was straining or belting out a long and high note. So against advice we tried singing lessons. We had gone through 2 different teachers and finally found a wonderful instructor in Michelle. Our now 10 y/o is still singing, but with more control, expression, and more important with knowledge and techniques on how to protect her voice so that we can continue to enjoy her singing. Recently on a whim AP tried out for the local children's theatre in a musical. First audition and she got a call back and by the third day was casted in the musical. She has a very small solo, two other small group pieces, and also part of the major cast for the big group singing. We are very proud that she achieved this. But all the credit, confidence, and preparation goes to her singing teacher Michelle. We highly recommend this instructor. She makes the sessions fun as well as technically appropriate for the age level of our daughter. She is very knowledgable and communicates well both to our daughter and myself as a parent. This has been exciting and we hope to continue with Michelle for our daughter loves her lessons and continues to grow and develop. October 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Michelle Voicing Me! Hello, I have been told I mumble when speaking for "some" many years now, even my Mother complains! I started with Michelle right after my 40th birthday this year in Feb. Michelle's class is something for me to really look forward to every week. She can easily identify some of the reasons I probably "mumble" my words, and is quick to correct the problems, but not at all offensive! If that makes any sense? She lets me sing songs I like and has a great way of explaining how the sounds should come out. The whole experience with Takelessons.com has been quite easy, not a lot of pressure. A condition of my raise in salary was that I take some sort of voice course, because my boss could not always understand my messages or conversations! He seems to be very satisfied with my progress. If you decide to got with Michelle, Which you should, you will really get all that you pay for and much more! So you know this is not a "glorified" friends review... she has not cats or dogs to play with while you are there..:) But she is a better voice and therapy than you will ever receive anywhere, for you or your children!
