Music has always been my passion. From a young age I began developing myself as a musician and guitarist. The early years of my guitar playing were based primarily upon improvisation and playing by ear in bands. It wasn't until college that I began to study classical guitar and receive formal training. I hold my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Composition from the University of California, San Diego. I have been teaching private lessons for 7 years and absolutely love it! There is nothing more satisfying than watching a student progress from knowing little to nothing about music to transforming into a fine musician and performer. I live in Scripps Ranch with my wife and newborn daughter.

Hello! I'm Andrew (but you knew that) and I play guitar!
I have been teaching for just over 3 years, and have studied through both private tutelage and the Ubiquitous Music curriculum. I have studied music theory and composition at Palomar college as well as privately with a graduate from the Berklee School of Music, and have studied arrangement techniques, sound engineering and reinforcement, and mixing techniques with a student of Blink 182's producer. My guitar education has been more widely varied, and includes lessons with a Musician's Institute graduate, a Berklee School of Music graduate, and several other professional guitarists in varying fields and styles.

I am currently working with autistic individuals using music and musical instruments as a tool. I am the drummer in the Lenny Fuzzy Rankins Band better known as fuzzy and the Bluesman. I also have my own group called Smooth Groove where I drum and sing. I have been playing drums for 40 years and have been singing for just as long. I have been playing professionally for 30 years. I produced Jacob Lusk one of American Idols finalist from last season 2011. I have been a songwriter for most of my life. I Also teach songwriting and I teach how to use recording software (Protools, Logic Pro and Reason.

I began taking piano lessons when I was six years old, but switched to guitar lessons at age ten. Ever since then, my passion has been playing guitar and songwriting. I am a music composition honors major at UCSD.

My background focuses mostly on classical, rock/metal, and jazz, and my specialty is the electric guitar. I can also help you learn classical guitar on a nylon string guitar if you prefer, including some flamenco.

After graduating from Salford University, England with a Bachelors degree (Honors) in Music and Composing I worked for a short time as a commercial "jingle" writer, before moving to San Diego, marrying my dream girl, and opening my own music recording, teaching and production studio. From there I have been teaching lessons, recording bands and writing music for independent film ad video games for the last 6 years. Throughout this time I've been continually performing live in venues all over California.

Francesca has over 20 years of experience polishing her guitar talents. While working towards her BA in Music Education and English, she carried a full teaching roster with over 30 students and still managed a 4.0 GPA from Cal State University at Los Angeles. Francesca's musical dexterity has taken her touring in four continents and has allowed her to perform with some of the most prestigious artists in the industry, including the Donald Briniger Singers, her own pop/rock bands Minor Setback and Franki and the Ntelegents, and even playing the banjo in The Three Penny Opera.

Francesca started teaching music at the early age of 16 with great success. Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a featured soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of the legendary trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. It was this that lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

I have been making music for over 15 years. I have a diverse background. I started out sampling, and sequencing all types of music back in the 90's. I made dance music, hiphop, RnB, rock, etc. I was more of a producer than performer then. Then I decided to go to school and get a degree in music. I went to Cal State San Marcos and obtained my bachelors in music. I developed into a fingerstyle guitarist while I was there. I also learned how to play the piano while I was there. But I concentrated on the acoustic guitar.

EXPERIENCE:
With 30 years of performing, and 15 years of teaching experience, (teaching beginning to advanced Drumming, and beginning Guitar, Piano and Voice) there is much to give back to, inspiring, Music students. Rick has performed and recorded with a variety of musical groups, in this span; and is currently working on a new CD with guitarist-songwriter, Dave Wagner. Rick continues to perform with many local, San Diego, Rock, Funk, Soul, Pop, Blues and Christian Praise bands (including an Elvis Presley Tribute Band and a Jimi Hendrix Tribute Band).

I began playing trumpet at age 9, guitar at age 12, and bass at age 16. While I am a serviceable trumpet player, I found my true loves in guitar and bass and perform almost exclusively on those instruments today.

I played in my high school Jazz and Concert bands, as well as rock bands outside of school. I followed my passion for music to college, where I graduated with Honors from the rigorous Music program at Roosevelt University in Chicago, with a bachelors degree in music performance. I focused on Jazz, but did learn classical theory and harmony as well.

Throughout college I earned income teaching lessons, and continue to this day, giving me over 12 years teaching experience. I perform professionally for a variety of bands in many genres, and write music for my own bands and for theatre productions.
