I have been teaching piano to students after school for four years in the elementary schools and at community centers. I have been playing piano for nine years. My ability to compose music as well as read it would make me a great asset to the students. I treat each student as an individual, even when I engage in group lessons. I have had experience in teaching a Downs Syndrome child.

I can patiently motivate the students to do what they may not think they can do on the piano. The lessons begin very basically and get more and more complex. I have successfully taught about one hundred students to play piano accurately. The result is an enjoyable experience.

I encourage students who play by ear to learn how to read music so that they can be more marketable in the music profession. Playing by ear is a very good and useful skill, but to be more professional, these students need to be well-rounded by learning how to read music as well.

I began teaching guitar and bass in 2003 as a college student. I have played and recorded with many bands in the Providence/ Southeastern Massachusetts area including The Third Party, Jon the Cartoon Whale and Natural Progression.

I specialize in jazz ,fusion, funk and rock. I encourage students to analyze the music they listen to and incorporate what they learn into their own playing. I teach sight reading, rhythm training, music theory, chord vocabulary, ear training, songwriting and improvisation.

I started playing music in the fourth grade. My first instrument was the
cello. In fifth grade I changed my instrument to the violin and found that it was definately something I wanted to persue. A year later I started
on the piano, and unlike the violin, I found that it was easier to learn it on my own. Because of that, my knowledge on the piano has been mostly self taught. I have been playing both instruments going on 16 years, and even though I did
play other instruments, nothing took center stage like the
piano and violin.

I am a guitarist from Mansfield, MA who grew up in a completely non-musical household, and, for one reason or another, always had an affinity for music. After failing monumentally at piano lessons in the second grade, it took several years before I made the decision to pick up a guitar for the first time. As it turned out, learning the instrument was the best possible thing that could have happened to me, and it became an important asset in almost every activity in which I participated. My hard work ultimately paid off, and by the time I graduated high school, it was clear to me that I had made the right choice in seeking to pursue music as a career.

I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have a wide-ranging experience in the music world, playing a variety of styles and a variety of orchestrations. In 2007 i was lucky enough to join Wynton Marsalis at Avery Fischer Hall in New York. Two years later, I had the honor of playing drums behind Dave Brubeck and saxophonist Grace Kelly at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I strive to not only assist musicians in expanding their technique and vocabulary, but also to encourage musicians in accessing their creativity and spirituality. Music is an incredible tool through which we can achieve amazing things, and through the practices of improvisation, ear training, and musical internalization, we can achieve so much more.

I have been blessed to make my living in the arts for many years. As a professional actress, musical director, producer and vocalist, I have seen how the Broadway and concert community work first-hand. I have been teaching voice and piano privately in NYC for over 20 years, with a number of clients currently on Broadway and in National tours (Jersey Boys, Lion King, Spamalot, etc.). I have been playing the Violin for over 15 years. After studying for years through the Longy School of Music in Cambridge with a Moscow Conservatory teacher and graduate, I moved on to College under the direction of a Juilliard graduate and teacher. My goal is to make my students as passionate about the violin as I have been. Nothing would mean more to me than seeing my students become excited and motivated about this wonderful instrument, and ultimately grow into a skilled musician. I am currently in the process of receiving my master's degree in teaching music, and look forward to developing my students into the best violinists that they can be!

My whole life I have loved musical theater and had a true appreciation for the joy of singing; through my passion for music, I decided to pursue teaching to high school students. A 2012 Bachelors Graduate of VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL I have had various singing and playing experiences in ensembles (choir, band, and orchestra), conducting, a cappella groups, and solo singing lessons. I am a percussionist with 18 years of experience on drum set, mallet instruments (i.e. Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone), and Steel Drum. I’ve played in many different styles of music from classical and jazz to world and latin. I have a passion for teaching and make it my goal to guide my students to their fullest potential.

I hold a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Percussion Studies and Music Education from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. After which, I obtained my certification to teach Kindergarten to 12th grade music and have done so in the towns of Randolph and Brookline.

As a performer, I have played with world renowned jazz artists such as bassist Santi Debriano and world music African drummer/jazz drum set player Royal Hartigan. On the weekends, you might find me jamming on drum set at a local jazz club or playing a shaker in one hand, bongos with another, and a woodblock with my foot in a college level...

I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. Early on I learned the need to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student discover and nurture their abilities, no matter what age the student may be.
