About Lisa

My Background in Music:

My inspiration first started when I was seven years old and in second grade. I was pondering if I wanted to dedicate myself to the music field. A substitute piano teacher came in that day and played and my admiration decided me to pursue this ambition for my life work.

I studied and played guitar and auto-harp as a child because of our lack of piano. The guitar was a gift and I played it for years and studied vocal music throughout school.

When I was a young teenager I started playing with a group that I met in a barn and I was thrilled. Many other musicians have been part of my story and as a young person I studied privately with such greats as Michelle Barone Horsefield as well as with with studio musicians such as the Scott Steeleman Studio and ...

Lisa is an exceptional person, let alone teacher. I have had the privilege of having her as my Aunt, and writing and playing piano with her has always been a fond memory for me. She made it fun, and even when I struggled, she was able to lift my spirits with her positivity and her passion for music. As a teacher, she's able to explain things in different ways and cater to the individuality of the student, which I think is key to building a solid foundation when learning a new skill, and developing said skill over time. She has incredible drive, and I think any student who gets to work with her will excel, while having a good role model to aspire to!

Lisa is by far the most experienced and practical piano teacher I have studied under in recent times. Her teaching methods and relate-able knowledge of brain-muscle memory were keys in helping me progress.
Being a studio engineer who is learning to produce, the fundamentals which Lisa has taught me are critical. Thanks Lisa!

My son loves to write lyrics and beats and Rufus is teaching him how to record his music digitally. Enthusiatic, high energy, patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and an accomplished musician. My son is fully engaged in learning with this teacher.
Yegues S. Lakeland, FL

About Yegues

I have taken flute lessons from the flute professor at FSU as well as guitar lessons from Dr. Leo Welch here at FSU. I have given multiple lessons and master classes on both flute and guitar. I have also been a music theory tutor for many students. I have a lot of experience with both giving and receiving lessons, so I have learned many ways to adapt to any situation.

I love laughing and making jokes, which is one of the most important aspects of any teacher. Lessons should be something to look forward to rather than dreading to spend time practicing. I do prefer being more laid back as a teacher, but still know when it's time to get more serious about the work.

As always Yegues is a very patient teacher. When I feel overwhelmed he is able to assure me I am making progress and let me know what I am doing is is difficult only because I don't know it and that after awhile it will all come together. Thanks Yeagues

Yegues is a phenomenal multi-instrumental teacher, specializing in adaptive teaching styles. Yegues had the ability to adapt our lesson to any method that would further my individual learning goals. He and I met for several months during which time I received real results and nothing but high praise for my teacher.

I am more confident with my voice now than I have ever been, thanks to Chip. He's very systematic in his methods, focusing on different aspects of one's voice, which he uses to combine into something beautiful that you never would have believed would come out of your mouth. His patience and ridiculous analogies have greatly helped me and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone who wants a better, more comfortable singing voice.

I honestly could not have asked for another teacher as kind, patient, and knowledgeable as Mr. Chip. As an instrumentalist with almost no singing background whatsoever, it was quite helpful to hear about and actually see how the body works together to allow for singing or speaking. It was also very helpful to learn more about the ways the body tries to help but instead causes more harm than good.

I believe Chip is a perfect teacher for any type of vocal student, from beginner to aspiring professional.

I started as a completely new student with no prior experience, and I was nervous for my first lesson. Chip had me at ease, and learning/practicing as soon as I got there. I've already improved some, and will be back for more lessons.

I highly recommend him to anyone just starting out like I was.

Bryce is an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher!

He is also very dedicated and professional. He was able to quickly assess and direct me to new heights! I walked into my first lesson lacking confidence in my voice and feeling overwhelmed with nervousness. He not only made me feel comfortable, but excited to sing! By the time I left the studio, Bryce empowered me to sing confidently and really enjoy it. (In addition to the homework for the next lesson!)

I look forward to my next lesson with Bryce and would recommend him to any age! :)

Amanda is an amazing vocalist and an even more talented violinist! I have heard Amanda perform countless times in many different styles and settings and she never disappoints. If Amanda's musicianship alone were not enough, she is personable, friendly, fun, and an excellent instructor! She has one of the best ears in the business!
