I am a graduate of Saint Francis University, where I received a Bachelors of Arts. I majored in English Literature and Philosophy and minored in Religious Studies and Ethics. I have presented papers at academic conferences on topics such as Friedrich Nietzsche, Literary Theory, and al-Ghazali. While at Saint Francis, I took classes English in British Literature from the 14th to 19th Century, American Literature, World Literature, Irish Literature, and Literary Theory. My philosophy classes included Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, Existentialism, Logic, Human Nature, Gender/Race Theory, Health Care Ethics, and Business Ethics.

About Brittany

I am a senior English education/English major at Duquesne University. Since the fall of 2011, I have been working with students of all ages to assist them with their academic needs. I spend 30 hours in classrooms around the Pittsburgh area each semester and help the teachers work with the students and help them reach their true potential. I have also spent the last three years as a member of the "Best Buddies" program which works with people who have mental and physical disabilities. I played lacrosse in high school and was captain my senior year, recently completed the half marathon, and I am a certified snowboard instructor. I enjoy working with kids and seeing them become motivated after being pushed and inspired which results from unique teaching techniques and strategies.
