About Me

I am a part-time music instructor specializing in piano, organ, voice and percussion. I hold a Bachelors Degree from Westminster College in Music Business where I assisted with multiple musicals and school affiliated music groups. I have over 16 years of personal music experience and have studied with some of the nations top musicians. I have been teaching privately and in groups for over 6 years and my students have ranged from age 5 to age 55. I have taught in all genres of music including classical, jazz, blues, rock, gospel and much more. I am a firm believer that anyone with the desire can learn to play and perform music no matter what their background. Let me use my talent and experience to help you achieve whatever musical desire you have.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons conform to each individual student. No one person is the same, so no one person learns in the same manner. I provide a fun, knowledgeable, and open learning environment for all of my students. Depending on the instrument, my curriculum conforms to the student. If you have no prior musical experience with your choice instrument I use the Suzuki Method for Piano (taught to listen and play before learning written notes), Kodaly Method for Vocal (aural, written, and reading), and the Orff Method for Percussion (observe, imitate, experiment, and create). I will work with the student depending on their goals, aspirations, and the time they have to commit to make sure that every lesson is a valuable learning experience.

Studio-has an 88 key weighted keyboard and a drum set, drum pads in a private professional studio room with all the necessary equipment including a sitting areas for parents and entertainment for other children if they'd like to stay for the lessons

About Me

I am a professional percussionist and recording engineer with a Bachelors in Music Technology from Duquesne University. I have been playing for 14 years and am versed in in many drumming styles including rock, funk, jazz, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian. As a recording engineer I have recorded every genre from classical to metal. I cover everything from sound theory and physics to hands on application.

*** Lesson Details ***
Beginning lessons involve the rudimentary study of rhythm and their application to drumming as a whole. Building a sense of independence in each hand so that both are equally as comfortable and strong will be emphasized. From their students will learn the intricacies of the drumset and develop a sense of interdependence between their limbs. I will start the student with a general overview of all the different styles and as they progress we will focus in on their preferred style. A strong emphasis will be placed on how to play with other musicians and I will accompany the student on either piano or guitar.

For recording and music technology students, beginners will start with a broad overview of what studies encompasses these fields. From their we will focus in on the students topic of choice and begin with practical application to get students working with the tools and technology available to them. Afterwards, we will move into more advanced studies including sound theory, physics, digital formats, etc.

About Me

I am currently a 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh and I have a strong educational background in mathematics, general sciences, and all around academics. I have also been a musician for 12 years of my life. Drumset and percussion are my strongest areas in music but I am also adequately skilled at guitar and singing. I have experience performing with a wide array of diverse music groups such as the Pitt Drumline (Center Snare), Concert Band, Men's Glee Club, and many local musicians that are in need of a drumset player. I have a strong passion for teaching and would love nothing more than for my students to excel.
