Hi! My name is Jessica and I would love to be your voice and/or piano teacher! I have been studying and performing classical music for 21 years. My relationship with music started at age 9 with the Contra Costa Children's Choir and I have maintained my classical vocal studies ever since. Along with my vocal studies, I studied classical piano privately with Keith Snell for 7 years, competing and achieving high marks in regional competitions. I went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Music at Mannes College of Music in New York City and finished my education at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I received my Masters, receiving training in vocal pedagogy and physiology, as well as vocal performance. I graduated from SFCM in 2009 and immediately began perusing ...
I started playing guitar when I was in the 8th grade. At that time I was into punk, and as I got older I moved into listening to classic rock, then blues, then all sorts of jazz and jam bands, and now classical and sacred art. And my playing of the guitar has following the same trajectory: I played in the style I listened to. One common thread through all of this has been an, at first unconscious, but now fully conscious focus on the art of improvisation.
Improvisation is central in my own playing, and what I deliberately bring my students to do. And this is not something vainly individualistic. Franz Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin; Coltrane, Miles; Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan; Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Clapton; SRV, Albert King, BB King: what do all of these musicians have ...
At age 12 Ken picked up a guitar and fell in love with the instrument. He began with an obsession with Metallica and related bands that later evolved to a passion for classical and jazz music, music theory.
From 2008 -2010 completed the music program at Diablo Valley College in June of 2010, which includes extensive coursework in Music theory, Piano and Guitar. Since 2011 Ken has been a Jazz Guitar Performance Major at Cal State East Bay. There he has studied Classical and jazz Guitar performance with world class musicians.
"Music has many different levels and the beautiful thing is there is a place for everybody. I have spent a lot of time throughout my music career going “back to basics” in order to become a better musician. We are all capable of becoming great ...
My name is Jeremiah S. I was raised in a family of musicians, so music has been in my life since before I can remember. My father, cellist of the Audubon Quartet holds the distinction of being the founding member of the 1st American String Quartet to ever win an International String Quartet Competition. Both of my brothers and stepmother are professional musicians as well leading successful careers as performers. I began my journey with cello at the age of 7 and went to my first summer music festival at age 12 and continued to attend summer festivals each summer after. I left home at the age of 17 to complete my high school education at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan. While at the Academy my string quartet participated and won a prize at the 1998 Fischoff ...

Hi! My name is Lauren and I have been in love with music for most of my life. Since I was six, I have been singing in one way or another. In middle school I was in the school choir and I performed in a number of band concerts as a vocalist. In high school, I starred in our school's production of "Once Upon a Mattress" as Princess Winnifred the Woebegone. By senior year, I was approached by various faculty to perform our national anthem at three different school events including the NCS Women's basketball championship games. Later that year, I was unanimously chosen to sing our National Anthem at my high school graduation. In college, I started taking lessons in opera and fell completely in love with ...
I started learning piano when I was five and played classical piano for six years. I like to play by ear and also took a year lesson in improvisation.
I graduated from San Jose State University with B.A. in Music Composition in 2002 and I've been composing ever since I was sixteen. I wrote a lot of Christian Music both in English and Chinese, Pop, Commercial, and Soundtrack.
I am very patient and passionate about teaching. If you have the desire to learn and devote yourself to practice everyday, you can play really well one day without you knowing it!
God bless & keep learning~
