What an honor it has been to come alongside people who want to experience music for the past ten years! I have taught ages four to sixty and every personality type you could imagine. My favorite part about starting a new student is the immediate quest to determine the students' interests and learning styles. It is my ultimate goal to find out what motivates my students...the last thing I ever want is for a student of mine to be afraid of the piano. I am aware that the piano is not "the instrument" for every individual, but it is my desire to create a positive experience nonetheless.

My students give recitals for family and friends bi-annually and the recitals are often themed. For example, our December recital is always Christmas music of all kinds and I encourage the students to be involved in all aspects of the recital, including designing program covers, passing out programs, playing duets and solos, and even speaking in front of the audience.

I have just added Sundays to the schedule. I've been teaching guitar for a couple of decades already and enjoyed every minute of it! I have played in a lot of different kinds of bands from country to rock around the state, and even had a few gigs as a bass player for the ARC jazz band including opening for Henry Robinette. I recorded a song I wrote with the world-class fiddle player Scott Joss, and several other songs i wrote received airplay on various stations around the state including 98Rock. We can learn to read music if you like, or start right in learning the techniques needed to play your favorite songs. I am a graduate of Musicians Institute and specialize in teaching improvision skills; also I am a father and specialize in patience.

Josh L. is currently the worship and youth pastor for Powerhouse Ministries in Folsom. He has belonged to numerous punk rock and metal bands throughout the years and has had the pleasure of touring with bands such as MXPX and Prescription. Josh is well versed in most popular styles including classical and blues. He has been teaching music in the Folsom community for the past 6 years.

My name is Dylan. Music is a huge part of my life. I started playing drums in 7th grade and haven't put my sticks down yet. After playing in many Sacramento based bands, I wanted more from my instrument. I enrolled into the Musicians Institute (MI) in Hollywood, Ca. I graduated with an Associates of Arts degree in drums. Teaching and performing drums is what I take very seriously. I choose to teach because of the pure joy and excitement I get from seeing people learning the drums. I prefer to teach beginner to (advanced) intermediate students. I can teach advanced concepts but what interest me is your sound, confidence and control on the drums. I'm laid back and easy going. Assignments are structured around your skill and interests.

I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have always enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I have been a piano teacher for over 35 years (17 years here in Gold River). I wasn't planning on being a teacher but one day I was playing "The Entertainer" with a window open and a neighbor came over and asked if I could teach him to play like that. I started him on lessons, he told a friend who signed her kids up, and the rest is history! I've had a full load since then and it has been a blast! I studied piano lessons for 8 years with a music conservatory teacher, and another 2 years with the Sac State Professor. I work in an elementary school doing non-directive play with at-risk students. I am also involved in several children's charities and even started my own charity.

Through a wide variety of activities, I will provide you with the instruction and positive feedback you need to master the skills necessary for singing or playing the cello. I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Sacramento area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento. During my time here in Sacramento I have held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I'm currently the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra and lead trombone for the Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. I am even featured as the bass singer in Selfless Cold and Composed on the Ben Folds' College a cappella album released in 2009. As well, I have been given the great opportunity to play in several professional drum lines (most notably that of the San Francisco 49ers "Niner Noise" and Golden State Warriors aftershock". With more than 20 years of teaching experience for the cello, I have taught students of all ages, throughout California and overseas. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Cello Performance and am currently the Principal cellist for the Camellia Symphony, California. In addition, I am teaching all levels of cello and beginner violin lessons to my students in Folsom, Napa and Sacramento.

My professional performing experience began in Medellin, Colombia in 1985 with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra where I was their Soloist beginning in 1992 and later on, as First Cello, from 1998-2002.

While in Colombia, I also performed with the Antioquia Symphonic Orchestra and the Antioquia Chamber Orchestra from 1991-1999.
