I am an active musician in the Baltimore and Philadelphia area working as a pianist, guitarist, producer, and composer. I graduated from the university of the arts with a degree in music performance performing in different ensembles from Latin jazz to the school's production of "Porgy and Bess." i have been teaching students of all ages for 3 years now and love working with children. Not only will students learn to read music but will get a great sense of rhythm, balanced theory, and even songwriting for those interested.

I have studied with Wanchi Huang at James Madison University for six years. At JMU, I earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, both in violin performance. I have been playing guitar for around 28 years, I have performed in many states and continue to do so. Playing live is a very special part of playing music, I have also recorded in the studio - it's always great to put your music onto a cd or help a fellow musician out and record when they need someone else to listen. I was born in Charlestown West Virginia. My musical career started at age 3 when my parents placed a pair of drum sticks in my hands. I started playing drums in church and then progressed to play in middle school were I was apart of the jazz band and orchestra. Music and teaching music have been my passions for as long as I can remember! Throughout my career as a student, I have explored many musical paths and instruments. All these experiences contributed to making me the well-rounded and intelligent musician I am today.

My undergraduate degree is from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in Music education where I am certified to teach any music from students K-12. Currently, I am pursuing a masters degree in Vocal Performance and Opera from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University where I study under Phyllis Bryn-Julson.

Although singing is my #1 passion, I encourage students to play instruments and explore other musical outlets. Musical instruments I've learned and performed with include: piano, french horn, mallet percussion, classical guitar, and saxophone. Music has so much to offer - take advantage of it now!

I teach students as young as 7 and all ability levels, whether you're just starting out, have been playing for a while, or are considering switching from violin to viola. My students don't just learn to copy my playing, but learn how progress and problem-solve when they're practicing on their own.
