I am an experienced voice and piano teacher with 20 + years of teaching experience.

I am passionate about teaching, and my experience includes teaching vocal music to elementary school students, voice and piano to college students, and teaching voice and piano to students in my home. I love working with people of all ages.

As a soprano, I have sung professionally with many choral ensembles, and have performed as soloist in recitals and concerts throughout the US. I have appeared in musical theater and opera productions in leading roles. I have also been a church and college choir director, and vocal coach for musical theater.

In addition, I have performed as piano soloist in various settings, and piano accompanist for choirs, singers and instrumentalists in church, contest and concerts.

Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate in Choral Music at Arizona State University.

I have personally taken voice lessons twice a week for well over 15 plus years by a master voice/opera singer who was trained and associated with a major opera house on the east coast. I enjoy working with each of my many students to exceed their initial vocal goals. Many of my students are professional singers, church choir members, actors, musicians, and I even train a Hollywood producer's Arizona clients!

I have taken graduate level courses at Arizona State University in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I've worked in the Radiology Department of a major hospital for over 10 years, seven years as supervisor. I have gained a very in-depth knowledge of the anatomical/physiological aspects of the human voice and body. My in-depth knowledge can help free your tired, sore, and/or hoarse "instrument".

I started studying piano and singing from a very young age. I used to make my friends come over and watch me perform (karaoke style--before karaoke was big) when i was in the 4th grade. My greatest love is music, performing music, and sharing it with others. As a singer i have studied all types of music, but my favorite- and what i excell at- is opera.

I have taken private voice and piano lessons constantly since the age of 5, and have studied opera performance and music theory in college. I perform locally around the community as a singer, direct the church choir, and occassionally accompany soloists on the piano. I have taught private lessons in voice and piano for 5 years and i greatly enjoy the one on one experience of teaching private lessons.

I studied voice at Brigham Young University. My musical studies continued at a college in California. I later took private Masters classes from my former professor, Ray Arbizu. Mr.Arbizu had been a leading opera singer in Germany before teaching at B.Y.U.

I've been a choir conductor and music director on and off since 1973.

I had several piano teachers, one of whom had taken from a concert pianist.

I've been teaching privately for 17 years.

I sing professionally.

Karen was born and raised in a musical family in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Karen has loved to sing and play instruments almost all of her life, and became passionate about music early in her childhood. She has played 7 instruments proficiently including piano, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, trombone, recorder, and voice (also an instrument). As a child, Karen took private instruction in piano and classical guitar. She sang and played guitar in her first band in the fifth grade! In high school she played trombone in band, bass guitar in stage band, and sang in the high school choir and stage chorus. In high school, she also sang and played acoustic and bass guitar in a rock band called the 6 pack, who performed for school dances and community events. Karen was also the singer and guitarist, leading the Young Life group. Even though Karen has had training in many instruments, she has had the most training in voice.

I am a classically trained singer who graduated from Cedarville University with my Bachelor's of Music degree. While I love to sing opera, I also enjoy singing pop, country and other music styles. I currently sing with the Phoenix Opera and continue to study with the Phoenix Opera co-founders.

I have taught people of all ages and backgrounds including children, adults, jazz singers, and a professional country artist. I continue to teach a variety of students with many different goals. Because I have had different voice coaches over the years, I have learned many different teaching styles and techniques that I use to help my own students progress.

My name is Amanda, and I love to sing! I have a Bachelor's degree in music education and a Master's degree in vocal performance, so I offer a lot of knowledge about the voice that I can share with my students. My extensive understanding of how the voice works helps me to tailor lessons specifically to student's age, experience and interests, as well as teach good vocal health and prevent any sort of vocal injury. My varied performing experience, which includes lead roles in major operas and musicals, helps me teach students greater confidence when performing, as well as tools and tricks to be a more effective performer.

I grew up with music surrounding me. Both my parents play many instruments and they have passed that love on to me and my brothers. I started singing as a toddler and piano and flute came soon after.
