Philadelphia Guitar Roots and New Traditions
By Jason S. - Philadelphia Guitar Teacher
The city of Philadelphia has been central to our nation since its birth, and the City of Brotherly Love certainly loves its music. From the Kimmel Center to Chris’ Jazz Café (only two blocks apart), Philadelphia has an incredible variety of music venues to choose from. What a privilege it is to live in a city where the Curtis Institute (one of the leading string academies in the world!) is located, as well as where the Jazz/Hip-Hop group The Roots first started. If you are taking guitar lessons in Philadelphia, you will have no shortage of local venues to showcase your skills.
This kind of musical heritage beckons for the youth of our city to carry the torch. Unfortunately, many of our local schools are cutting back on music and arts programs due to the state of the economy. How then will our kids learn about all the great musicians that may inspire them to succeed? Guitarists like Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Wes Montgomery and Trey Anastasio helped make me the man I am today. What will happen if our children aren’t introduced to the incredible possibilities that lay in music?
TakeLessons brings together the most talented musicians in the area and unites them with a single goal: to pass on the knowledge we’ve been lucky enough to acquire, and keep our country rocking. Teaching guitar lessons in Philadelphia is just one way I can help children explore the many possibilities that lie in music. Whatever styles your child is looking to learn, there is a teacher aching to teach them. Don’t let the most influential time of your child’s life go by without giving them a chance to influence the future of music. Sign up for guitar lessons in Philadelphia and see where music can take you!
