Kirk M. Joliet, IL

About Kirk

About two decades ago, I bought my first guitar from a pawn shop in Las Vegas and have been playing and loving music ever since. During and after college, I spent most of my time in the music scene of Las Vegas. I also spent much of that time (about 12 years) studying and gathering information about playing and music composition.

Benefits from taking these lessons...
I have decades of music theory education, self teaching and playing experience. The unique lesson course I have developed can easily benefit any student. From the very first lesson, I teach the universal language of music theory (the structure of all music) and show how to apply the theory. A student can then apply the same knowledge to any instrument, including singing. The student can also read music, write ...

Arnell B. Park Forest, IL

About Arnell

I've always loved to sing from my earliest remembrance along with a love for the piano and a desire to play. I attended Academy of Our Lady - High School where I took four years of piano as well as vocal instruction. I performed with a group called The Madrigals as a 'high soprano' during those years. I further attended Wheaton College, attained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music. I was educated musically through Wheaton's Conservatory of Music. I studied piano, voice, theory, music history, music appreciation, and sight singing to name a few. I auditioned, performed, and traveled with the Women's Glee Club.
Since then, I served as the worship leader in church setting. I was responsible for music selection, accompaniment, and vocal coaching for our ...

Wow! What an experience.

Arnell is a brilliant instructor.she is motivating, exciting, fun,. creative and very informative.she is a miracle worker. Arnell has done wonders with our 3 children.before they started the piano and singing classes with Arnell, my husband and I realized that it would be very difficult and very challenging for our 8 year old son to learn the piano, seeing that he was diagnosed with a learning disability. to our amazement we were very pleased to see our child, our children reading musical notes and playing the piano fluently in such a very short time,it brought tears to our eyes. Yes my family is very blessed to have Arnell as a piano and singing instructor.

Great with young children!

My 8 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Arnell for a year and has truly flourished under her instruction. Ms. Arnell is patient and goes the extra mile to motivate her students. She never rushes the lesson and sends notes of encouragement to my daughter in between weekly classes which motivates her to practice at home. My daughter is very shy but after a year of lessons and her first recital her self esteem is noticeably on the rise! I recommend lessons from Ms. Arnell to anyone who wants to give their son or daughter the gift of music.

Blake has been a wonderful teacher for my daughter. Not only is he very knowledgeable in guitar and singing, but he has been very accommodating for any and all of our scheduling needs. We live out of the country, and he has been more than helpful with changing schedules. His price is very reasonable. I would suggest him to anybody!

Blake is very patient with my son who has a short attention span. He will even go out of his way to find music that will inspire him instead of teaching the standards that would bore him to tears. We received a few lessons as a gift and have continued to go to Blake because we like him and he is making a difference in my son's life.

Dave is an exceptional teacher!

I am a beginner guitar player, Dave has been patient and kind at every lesson. This has been an inspiration and a great help for me to continue learning the guitar. I wanted to find a guitar teacher and not just a guitar player; his approach to teaching is outstanding. He has a love for music and a gift of being an excellent teacher. I always leave my lesson feeling good about my progress and inspired to continue learning to play the guitar. I recommend him for any player at any level; he he teaches good practice habits and is very knowledgeable of music theory and how to teach each person individually. It is rare to find someone knowledgeable in music and apply their knowledge to teaching. I was fortunate to find him!

He's awesome. :)

He makes learning the guitar so comfortable. He makes things easier to review and doesn't mind going over things you may have forgotten. If I could, I would get everyone I know to take lessons from him. I couldn't ask for a better teacher!

Beth B. Chicago, IL

About Beth

I am a professional performer and teacher. I have been working in the Chicago area since 1986 and enjoy a nice balance between teaching and performing. I am a member of the Illinois Philharmonic, and have been a substitute in most of the other orchestras in the area. For 5 years I was the principal substitute for the St Louis Symphony and I currently travel from time to time to play in orchestras out of state and sometimes out of the country. I love teaching, passing on the experiences I have had over the years. Many of my students do very well at IMEA and other competitions. I try to instill a love of music which has evolved into many students participating in the music programs at their college, even if they are not music majors. Students have also gone on to professional careers ...
