Originally from New York City, music has always been one of my passions and I was hooked from the moment I had my first piano lesson at 7 years of age. I went on to study with excellent teachers which included a scholarship to the Greenwich School of Music in Greenwich Village. During those years I also met my first drama teacher, Gertrud Schattner, a Viennese actress who was one of the founding members of the National Association of Drama Therapy in the United States. She instilled in me a love for musical theatre and prepared me to audition for the High School of Performing Arts, which was portrayed accurately in the original movie "Fame" (1980). I received a rigorous and thorough training there in theatre, voice, and movement and have since gone on to perform and to give instruction in acting and singing.

I hold a BFA in musical theatre from Shenandoah University Conservatory where I studied with a concentration in voice. I have been trained in all styles of music by coaches at Carnegie Mellon University and Civic Light Opera. I've been performing as a guest entertainer on various cruise ships traveling around the world for the past several years. As a performer myself I am aware of what different companies are looking for and can help put together a fantastic audition package for a student looking to pursue a career in entertainment, or if you just want to impress your friends on karaoke night! I'm incredibly passionate about teaching voice and want to help inspire students to love what they are learning.

Lorna is a music teacher who has been teaching voice and piano for years. She is a graduate of Florida International University where she earned a Bachelor degree in Music Education. She is lots of fun. Lorna is also a professional singer who sings several genres, which includes opera, jazz, R&B, gospel, pop and music theatre. A student can expect to grow and advance in their instrument of choice while they enjoy learning with Lorna.

I am a singer, pianist and guitarist who, through the arts, has achieved a lifelong love and passion for performing and teaching music. This love for music prompted me to pursue music education at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music leading to my certification for teaching music K-12 including band, orchestra, chorus, and general music. Using music, I plan to broaden my students’ perspectives, increase their appreciation for classical through popular music, and ultimately, improve their musical ability. I hope that through lessons we can explore my students' musical goals, helping them achieve their dreams as well.

Hi! My name is Barbee and I am pursuing a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. I recently graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, and I have experience teaching singing, piano, speaking, and music theory. I have taught students ages five to adult, male and female, with all levels of experience and many different musical goals. I have performed in Italy, the Czech Republic, and the US, in operas, musicals, oratorios, concerts, and recitals.
