Teachers - Do you want to introduce yourself to potential students through a video in your TakeLessons profile? Now you can!

We often hear from potential students that they are interested in talking to or meeting a teacher before booking lessons. To help with this process, we have developed tools that will allow you to either upload an existing video that you have already recorded, or to record a new video on the spot! Your videos will be submitted directly to us, and once approved we will upload them to your TakeLessons profile and post them on our YouTube page.

Guidelines for ALL videos:

  • The maximum length for a video is 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
  • Do NOT include your last name, personal website URL or other identifying information in your video.  This is to protect your privacy.
  • Remember that your video is a reflection of you as a teacher and an artist.  Think carefully about how you are choosing to present yourself to your audience before you record.
  • If you'd like to see examples of videos that other teachers have submitted, check out our YouTube channel.

Tips for recording your video:

  • Make sure the area where you plan to record your video is well lit and free of other distractions or background noise.
  • It's a good idea to plan what you want to say and practice a few times before you hit “record.”
  • Place your camera at a height that is eye level or higher. This angle will look the most natural to prospective students when they watch your video.
  • Look directly at the camera as much as possible, so viewers can make a connection with you.
  • Remember to SMILE!
  • You can review and re-record your video as many times as you want before submitting it to us.
  • Once you’re satisfied with your video, click “submit.” Your video will then be sent to us for approval - please allow one week for approval.
