I am a music educator, performer, and student. At the young at of 27 I've has gained many in-depth experiences in the multiple areas of our musical world. I've taken lessons with some of my idols, played venues I had only dreamed of as child, and I am currently managing and performing with my own group MoPhat. With 15 years of experience in playing various musical genres (Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk, and R&B), l am well prepared to teach aspiring guitarists of all ages and levels.

Guitar studies have been an effective catalyst for learning responsibility, how to communicate clearly, and how to work effectively both in groups and solo. It is these lessons that I wishes to pass down to students through music education. I should also mention that this is good clean fun as well. Playing music is one the greatest gifts one can give to themselves, a family member, or friend. I am a Board Certified Music Therapist. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Montclair State University, where I studied music therapy with a concentration in piano. I have been a piano teacher for 8 years. I have been playing piano for 16 years, singing in choirs for 13 years, and playing flute for 10 years (mostly band). I am currently studying piano with Mark Pakman.
Music Performances have taken me to Maryland Jazz Festival, NJPAC, Carnegie Hall, Moscow Conservatory, and several other places with bands, choirs, and solo.
Music has also taken me to Nepal, where I worked with children adolescents, and young adults, in a Christian based organization with music and other subjects.

Greetings! My name is Christina and I am a recent Rutgers University graduate with a double major in both music and economics. I have had over 12 years of private training in piano, with additional experience in violin, orchestra, choir and various performance-related events. Over the years I have studied with numerous pianists and incorporated many different methods and techniques that have greatly influenced my own teaching. I have been teaching music lessons to both children and adults since high school, and am comfortable teaching any age. I do believe that a solid foundation in any instrument begins with music theory, and it is something I incorporate little by little into each lesson; however, it is very important to me that the learning process be enjoyable, and I strive to make each lesson as fun, inspiring, and exciting as possible!

I have been singing and acting almost since I could walk. Born and
raised in San Angelo, Texas, I grew up singing in choirs and performing
and musicals. I continued this love for singing through college when I
earned a bachelor's degree in Musical Theater with a minor in Acting
from The University of Northern Colorado. I now live in Bayonne, New
Jersey with my wife of nearly seven years, where I continue to work as
a professional actor and singer. In my professional career as a
performer, I have performed in such projects as the Broadway production
of "Brooklyn the Musical", several Off-Broadway projects including
"Sessions" (original cast), and several productions of musicals around
the country. I have performed with such broadway names as Eden
Espinosa, Ann Crumb, Robert Cuccioli, John McDaniel and Hugh Panaro. I

I've made my career as a performing musician and teacher for many years. I've enjoyed touring the Northeast U.S. and also the U.K. What fun it's been meeting different people and experiencing their love of music! My band specializes in rock, blues, and originals, too. There's even a little jazz influence, coming from my years of private study, most recently with Ms. Leni Stern, an extraordinary professor of music at NYU. I love to keep an open mind with my students regarding playing styles and approaches to learning, and I'll encourage you to do the same! I am a music educator, classically trained with an advanced performance degree. As a soloist and collaborative musician, I have performed professionally in ensembles, bands and orchestras both here and abroad. With a high degree of knowledge and proficiency, I teach proper technique and practice strategies, music notation, theory, rhythm and phrasing, while adapting teaching approaches to match the needs of each student. I share a love of music with my students and it gives me great pride to hear each student develop their own musical voice.

I made my Broadway debut with the original cast of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s hit musical Mary Poppins and became Broadway's second Mary, flying over the heads and into the hearts of Broadway audiences for over 100 performances.  I left that production to join the original cast of the highly acclaimed Broadway revival of Ragtime.  

I continue to cross the country representing Walt Disney Productions in national concert appearances. I have also has appeared on The Today Show, The View, the 2007 Tony Awards Show, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have sung for the annual Broadway on Broadway Concert in Times Square, Broadway Sings for Toys and the Fred Ebb Awards.   Recently, I was seen at The Maltz Jupiter Theatre as Hope in Anything Goes, and in the title role of the musical, Gypsy, in the premiere production of the new North Shore Music Theatre, as Mary Poppins in the  televised 2010 IKEA Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 2011 Walt Disney World Christmas...

Music has been part of my life since the age of three. My first inspiration was my mother, who was a working singer in the 70's. My second inspiration and mentor was my High School Music Teacher, Mr. Wynn, and I am grateful for all he has taught me. I am passionate about teaching and would like to have the opportunity to be as inspirational to my students as Mr. Wynne was to me. As you can see from my resume below, I have been very active in performing and teaching. At the age of 37, I feel even stronger that the choice I made to make MUSIC my career was the absolute correct one. I believe in the Bible principle that it is better to give than to receive. Teaching is a major facet of music that allows me to do this.

As a Music Teacher, my strengths are Patience, Experience and Encouragement. I am a Father of 4 and have had the joy in teaching them Guitar, Saxophone, Basic Theory and more. I have taught at Columbia College Chicago and at School of Rock (NYC/NJ). I currently teach children and young adults how to make simple musical instruments at The Friends of The Family Day Care Center in Mutuchen, NJ as well as producing Creative Sound Workshops at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and various Sound Art Festivals.
