Hello, my name is Brenda and I recently received my B.M. in Music Education from William Paterson University located in Wayne, NJ. I was a voice major and flute/piano double minor. Although I do work with students of all ages, I specialize in working with younger children. I teach flute, clarinet, voice, and piano and have experience teaching in both individual and group settings. I am currently studying different teaching methods so I can develop a custom program that best fits your learning styles and incorporates what you already know, with what you will need to learn in order to achieve your goals.

Born and raised in northern New Jersey, I have played the piano since age 8 and performed since age 12. My grandmother first inspired me to learn, as she would play for family gatherings - I envied her ability to captivate a room with such beautiful music. Throughout High school, I began developing my voice as a pianist and composer. I participated in the Terra Magica music festival in Croatia, working with several internationally renowned teachers, who influenced me to pursue a career in music. I studied piano with Aaron Wunsch at William Paterson University (a graduate and current teacher at the Juilliard School), composition with John Link (a graduate of the City University of New York), and music analysis and ear training with Jeffrey Kresky (graduate of Colombia and Princeton music schools). I started taking piano lessons when I was 4 and then learned the clarinet and played in the band in middle school. In high school I started playing the viola in the orchestra while still playing in the band. I had the best of all music worlds! In college I played in many school and community orchestras in places like Carnegie Recital Hall and even with the NY Philharmonic Orchestra! Orchestral and Chamber Music are my forte. I have been a string orchestra conductor for 10 years and love to put on a show to be remembered. My students have played at various day cares, nursing homes and shopping malls. We were even on the local Channel 12 News!

Hello, my name is Jonathan, and I teach piano privately. As a William Paterson University graduate in Music Studies, I feel that music is an essential part of our lives, and learning how to play an instrument can help people of all ages (particularly children) share and express their talent. I have been teaching piano for one year, and it has been a wonderful experience. Not only do the students learn how to play piano, but it helps me get to know the students more closely.

I started learning piano at the age of seven. As I got older, I learned how to accompany. While at William Paterson, I took two semesters of Piano Pedagogy, and as a requirement, I needed to have a student to teach and play for the class. I've made my career as a performing musician and teacher for many years. I've enjoyed touring the Northeast U.S. and also the U.K. What fun it's been meeting different people and experiencing their love of music! My band specializes in rock, blues, and originals, too. There's even a little jazz influence, coming from my years of private study, most recently with Ms. Leni Stern, an extraordinary professor of music at NYU. I love to keep an open mind with my students regarding playing styles and approaches to learning, and I'll encourage you to do the same! Through an international singing career that has included everything from Baroque opera to working with some of some of today's most prominent composers, Pamela has performed with Yamaha Young Concert Artist Series, the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme at Aldeburgh Music Festival, Operafestival di Roma, Yale School of Music's New Music, New Haven, the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, Left Bank Concert Society, Opera at Florham, American Opera Projects, and many others. I have a background in classical, jazz and popular music. I have played flute for over 20 years in every context, from orchestra to marching band to CBGB. I have performed with vocal ensembles of every size and in every style.

I am Kathleen M., a native Canadian, and an increasingly busy artist. Currently residing in Lodi, NJ, I have performed on stages across the United States and Europe with some of the leading opera companies. In the fall of 2012 I returned to NYC to teach adjunct at NYU and to complete an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at this institution. I will also be finishing my DMA in vocal performance from the University of Illinois by completing the final steps of the prelims and dissertation.

Brian has been performing for over 10 years. He is experienced in genres from hip-hop to classic rock, and delivers a style all his own. He is an honors graduate of Berklee College of Music with a dual degree in Music Production and Engineering and Music Business Management. Prior to Berklee, Brian was classically trained as a vocalist by Georgia Marandino. He fine-tuned his skills at Berklee with Joey Blake (performs with Bobby McFerrin). Brian learned guitar and piano from his father a semi-pro guitarist and an educator of educators. As a producer and sound engineer, Brian has worked with musicians spanning different genres and cultures including Grammy Award winning sound engineer Hector Ivan Rosa (Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, El Gran Combo). He currently offers voice, piano, guitar, and music theory lessons to students of all abilities.

From the first time I struck a key on a piano, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. The emotions you get from happiness, to fulfillment, to a gained self-esteem; that is the gift of music that I give to my students.

Throughout high school, I was in orchestra, marching band, and choir, which I feel has helped broaden my musicality at a young age. I have been classically trained in piano for over 10 years, but also have a background in rock/pop/alternative styles. I have trained in voice for 4 years and primarily am familiar with pop/rock styles.

In my spare time, I plan musical benefit shows supporting charities such as "VH1 Save the Music Foundation" & "To Write Love on Her Arms." These two charities in particular helped me not only give back to the music world, but to helping others who have it hard. Besides an education, I also feel it's important for a teacher to be pure hearted.
