I play professionally, I have over 43 years of music experience I started at a very early age enjoying music, i have played recitals at the high school level on cello. I have been a featured soloist on the 4,5,6,string electric bass as well as the acoustic double bass, I have a CD out that show cases the genres of music that i have experience in. I am very passionate about teaching and instructing my students to acquire a love for music that will inspire them on to greater achievements in life.

After receiving my Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, I went on to perform on 5 star cruise ships and go on tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. I have been playing Saxophone and the other woodwinds professionally in Chicago for 5 years and my goal is to teach others how to get the most out of music performance. Lessons are taught out of my home studio, where there are music stands, a speaker system, and recording equipment.

As a lifelong professional musician, I have always provided private lessons throughout my career. As others have helped me,I also realize the importance of helping others to develop musically.
I realize every student has different goals and aspirations and I'm able to provide those needs, whether it's the basic tools that every young musician needs to possess or a more intensive strategy to get over a hurdle and move to the next level of achievement . I am adept at directing individuals of all ages to apply their talents and bring out their best. But, probably most important of these, is developing a joy for music itself, all the while learning and gaining skills.
I am a founding member of "Big Twist & The Mellow Fellows", a popular group that recorded frequently with several major independent blues labels and also toured extensively in the US, and Europe, primarily during the 80's and 90's.
I am a college graduate with a Bachelors of Music degree in music education, and, certainly a joy, as I continue to work today primarily focused in helping young students who are beginning their music careers within the school band and orchestra system.

My studies in piano date back to when I turned 9 years old and have been playing ever since. I have been classically trained but also studied an assortment of other styles such as Jazz and Blues. While In college I attained a degree in Music Education but also studied music composition in the hopes of becoming a more accomplished song writer. During my studies in college I have gained sufficient knowledge in understanding music theory and music analysis. This is a benefit I have found extremely helpful in teaching, especially with students who are learning advanced literature. Under the tutelage of Dr. Kim at NIU I have become transformed in both educating and performing. It is with this knowledge that I hope I can pass on to all of my students

I have been magnetized to the saxophone ever since I was introduced to the music of John Coltrane in the seventh grade. Since then I have been in a constant pursuit of deepening my understanding of music and all its beautiful forms, and sharing that knowledge with those who are interested!
Hailing from Flagstaff, Arizona, I attended Western Michigan University on a four year scholarship and received my Bachelor of Music, Jazz Studies in 2009. While I was there I had the incredible privilege of studying with the great Trent Kynaston, as well as performing with some of the most influential jazz musicians today, including Bobby McFerrin, Stefon Harris, Billy Hart, Fred Hersch, and Randy Brecker. I now live in Chicago where I teach lessons and perform regularly with my band, The Winchester Sound.
I am very passionate about music, and consistently see that passion transferred to my students. It is incredibly rewarding to see someone progress right before my eyes, and know that I influenced the progression.

Daniel, a former faculty member of Columbia College in Chicago, is a studio and live performance singer and musician based in Chicago. His teaching and performing experience spans three decades, and includes expertise in the studies of voice, guitar, piano, bass, drums, and trumpet, along with music theory, arranging, and composing. He is a Lincoln Academy Student Laureate who holds a BA in Music Composition, and has attended graduate courses in education at Roosevelt University and DePaul University in Chicago. He has taught students of all ages at private studios, public school, and college.
Daniel is described by his students as a natural teacher. He prefers to be regarded as an advancing student, and takes the journey along with his students to guide them towards their goals with a friendly, positive, efficient and productive approach. He feels that music is within all of us, and a desire to learn is a sign of talent, so anyone can develop their musical abilities with methodical practice.
The musical journey for Daniel began at an early age with trumpet and piano studies which became a passion for him by the age of 14. He was the drum major of the high school marching band, and successfully completed a paid contract to arrange music for the high school jazz band which performed in a state beauty pageant. He began teaching privately after high school, and continued playing in bands, and composing original music. He formed a professional jazz ensemble under the name of the Chicago Jazz Players by the age of 22, and developed his arranging techniques while having it performed by an eighteen piece orchestra consisting of many great local artists. It was in this environment that he gained experience with brass, woodwinds, and rhythm instruments. He was granted a position at Columbia College as an instructor at age 29 where he taught theory, sight singing, musicianship, ear training, harmony, orchestration, and composition. He scored the music for several plays, and conducted his own pieces with Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera Players. During those years he found himself playing the guitar and singing more than anything else. It was in 1995 that he focused on singing and playing the guitar with his rock band. He has produced several CD recordings of his original music in his own studio, and has helped produce local bands and artists. He performs regularly in the Chicago area.
