Greetings everyone, my name is Simon. I am a drummer, percussionist, live performer, song writer, and music teacher. I have actively been playing musical instruments and live shows since the age of four. Growing up in a highly encouraged artistic musical environment provided me with a great love and passion for learning and playing music. As time went on I focused on learning instruments such as the guitar, bass guitar, piano, trumpet, French horn, voice/singing, various percussive instruments, steel drums, xylophone, and the drums. Julia began playing the trumpet at age 11 in her middle school band. She found her real passion was singing, so she began training with a voice coach, playing piano, and performing in musical theatre productions.

In 2004 Julia entered the School of Music and Theatre Arts at Washington State University. She studied voice and piano and was an avid performer in the WSU Library Atrium Recital Series. She was cast in 6 productions of the school's Opera Workshop Series including "Jane Eyre," "Naughty Marietta" and "Der Freitschutz." She also played her trumpet in the Cougar Marching Band for 2 seasons. Julia taught private voice and piano lessons from her studio during college until she graduated in May, 2010.

Music has always been my core focus in life and I enjoy helping students of all ages reach their musical goals! I love music of all kinds and am proficient in classical, jazz, soul, pop, rock, punk, hip-hop, latin, and more; as well as picking up influences from the various places I've lived- New Jersey, Hawaii, and Seattle.

I grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and began studying basic music at the age of 5. I started classical guitar lessons at the age of 10 and was fortunate to learn from Alice Artzt who is a renowned American concert guitarist and teacher. I've also studied classical voice since I was 8 and toured with The Princeton Girlchoir. Later, I attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and received a bachelors in music in 2006. Currently, I write and perform original music in the Seattle area.

I’m a passionate musician who wants to help students realize all the potential they have within themselves. I hold a Bachelor’s of Music on Violin from the Wheaton Conservatory and a Master’s of Music on Violin from California State, Sacramento. I recently returned from four years of teaching at Sias University in Xinzheng City, China. There I served as the concertmaster of the Sias Symphony Orchestra and was part of the String faculty at the Sias School of Music from 2009 until 2011. At Sias I taught in both English and Chinese and I hope that my Mandarin Chinese skills will help me communicate with students and families coming from a Chinese background in the Seattle area.

I am the drummer & percussionist for Juno Award-winning, Canadian band, The Paperboys, touring regularly in Europe as well as the US and Canada. I am a professional guitarist and I perform with the popular Northwest Gypsy Jazz group, Pearl Django. I also am a founding member of Zazou, a Seattle based swing sextet and have my own trio that I play with as well.
