About Me

Hi! My name is Jordan and I am so excited to teach music and singing lessons in New York City!
Why do I love to teach? Making music brings every person on a unique personal journey, and I really value the way people learn about who they are as they learn to express themselves!

Why you should study with me: I really believe that studying music is a goal in itself; I want to help you be comfortable learning and performing to the best of YOUR ability and find your own niche. I have been teaching music both in private lessons and group classes for 4 years. My experience has shown me that learning to sing or play an instrument carries into the way people approach every day life. Every student is already a star!

What music inspires me: ALL kinds of music! I really love opera and chamber music, but I also listen to rock, pop, jazz, and soul music all the time. I love how different music speaks to every person in its own way!

About Me

Greetings!

I received my Bachelor of Music degree from New York University, and I am working on my Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music.

I have performed at many well-known venues including The Blue Note, The Jazz Gallery, The Bitter End, Sullivan Hall, The Garage, Caffe Vivaldi, Miles Cafe, and The Local 269 in New York City; Twins Jazz Club in Washington DC; Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair NJ; and Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philadelphia.

About Me

Yuichi H. was born in Tokyo, Japan. His musical career started at age 10 when he performed marimba in a music recital. He started playing drum set at age 14 and joined a wind ensemble, a few rock bands, and a jazz big band. With some of these groups, he performed at several live music venues in Tokyo. In 1991, he composed the music and performed drums and percussion in a production of Othello, at The Globe Tokyo Panasonic Theater.
In the fall of 1991, with a full scholarship, he attended Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He studied jazz drums mainly with Joe Hunt and Jon Hazilla, and orchestral percussion with Dean Anderson. Also, he took many classes in jazz composition and arranging with Gregg Hopkins and Jeff Friedman. He was the recipient of "The Cuccinello Percussion Award" and the "Berklee Percussion Department Achievement Award." Outside of the school curriculum, he joined several bands and performed at several venues such as the Willow Jazz Club, Middle East...

About Me

I was born in Caen, Normandy, France.

I studied drums and percussion and obtained a unanimous first-prize at the Seine Saint-Denis drums competition. I also attended workshops under the direction of great drummers such as Max ROACH, Clifford JARVIS and Jack DeJOHNETTE.

I performed in virtually in every major jazz club in Paris (New Morning, Duc des Lombards, Sunset, Petit Opportun, Manhattan Jazz Club, Sunset), in various Jazz Festivals and I also played in Germany and Italy.

At the same time I started teaching regularly in four conservatories (Arcueil, le Pré-St-Gervais, Epinay Sous Sénart and Chevilly) for more than 10 years until I moved to New York. I taught private lessons for drums and percussion, and also numerous workshops for kids, teens and adults.

After a lesson with the legendary Jimmy COBB in 1992 during a visit to the United States, I decided to move to New York. I was finally able to do so in 2000, and I have been living here since then.

About Me

I am an enthusiastic accompanist, performer, and teacher, engaged in projects ranging from Early Baroque figured bass, to 20th-century classical chamber music, to Broadway and Folk. I currently teach Dalcroze Eurhythmics classes in Manhattan, an innovative approach to classroom music education that uses movement and the body to connect what the ears hears and the mind knows. As a pianist I have performed in Switzerland, England, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York.

Hi! :) Welcome to Take Lessons! Let me start of by saying that I love to teach singing and acting!! :) I specialize in teaching students from teens to adults but love teaching younger children as well. There is no better feeling than to see a student grow and better themselves artistically and personally. In addition to teaching singing and acting for over 10 years I have performed in numerous Broadway shows and National Tours throughout the US and Canada. I am presently a working actor. I received my education from the University of Michigan's School of Music. Whether you are a first time singer/actor or an established professional I love students who are excited to absorb new ideas and attempt to grow in ways they hadn't thought possible.
