*** Specialties ***
I have taught drums and piano for over 7 years. However, professionally I have been playing drums for 4 years in live and studio situations. The only included music recording in reference to the fact that I can teach musicians how to effectively record in a studio situation. I wouldn't be the teacher for engineering work.

I started taking djembe lessons from Mr. Lopez just over 6 months ago. I had been wanting to participate in a drum circle but had never played an instrument before, I was very apprehensive and no confidence in myself. Right away he made it easy for me by making it fun, which was important. It's so exciting to see how far I have come knowing the correct techniques he has instilled in me as I have found that many players don't use. I am having fun and have been to many drum circles now without lacking skill and confidence in my new found abilities thanks to Mr. Lopez

Art Lopez is a Wonderful long time teacher

Art Lopez is such a wonderful hand drum instructor; I only wish I had started with him in the very beginning. I say that because it is now harder to unlearn the incorrect way that I was playing all these years, before he showed me how to play correctly. I can now get all the different sounds out of my drum and sound really good. Also my hands don’t hurt like they use to. He approaches each lesson with enthusiasm and humor. It makes learning a lot easier. I have had some other instructors and Art Lopez is by far the best. I don’t usually write reviews for anyone but I was inspired to do so in this case.
