My name is Omar. I am a musician and a visual artist. I earned a Masters cert. in Songwriting and Guitar from Berklee College of Music. I have been playing guitar and recording music since childhood, am a classically trained sitar player and am currently studying indian classical vocal.

My favorite thing to do is share music with people, I love to discover new things about music, and no better way to do that then to meet new people who love music. As an artist I have been featured on the BBC, NBC, VOA, ARY, MTV and in Alt Press, Rollingstone, LA times, and much more.

Miles H. was born in Bogota, Colombia, but raised in Annapolis, MD. Early in life he began to take classical piano lessons, but after 9 years, and certain events in high school, guitar became his instrument of choice. He then went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music. During his time at Berklee he began to play in two bands, Michaela Kaser and the Naughty Drop, and Jess Ross. Both acts have allowed Miles to play in venues all around the Boston/Cambridge area.

I believe everyone has the ability to sing … some better than others, of course, -- but regardless, I believe every voice can make a beautiful sound. I believe learning to sing requires team work: with the proper instruction and learning tools from me, the instructor, and with the dedication (practice, practice, practice) from you, the student, a well-rounded singer can emerge.

I began singing when I was five years old in church. I continued singing exclusively inspirational music until I was a teenager. At that time, in addition to the second soprano part I sang in a five-part harmony
a Capella (without instrumental accompaniment) Gospel group, I also sang in a couple of bands (Rhythm and Blues, and Jazz). My undergraduate studies were completed at the American University, where I majored in Communications (B.A.), and minored in Music, voice being my instrument. I believe that the well being of the student is the most important thing a teacher must be concerned about. I can provide professional instruction while still having fun in a very relaxed atmosphere.

I believe the bond between a student and a teacher should be comparable to a very close friend. Someone you can talk to comfortably and someone you can depend upon to help you succeed. Through personal experience I have seen a difference in learning between a strict cold teacher vs one that is kind, sociable and caring of the well being of the student., not just in matters having to do with the studies themselves but overall happiness as well.

My style of teaching is very laid back and relaxed. I would like to take it at a pace in which the student is comfortable with the material before moving forward. Reinforcing the basics before moving onto more advanced material.

I played on a toy piano when I was very young, learning a bit of sight reading from my Mother, while listening to classical, jazz, and rock music. When I was 12, I learned guitar and later took private piano lessons from a prominent Philadelphia instructor. After playing in a rock band in high school, I went to college and received my degree in Physics. During this time, I joined a choir, and sang and played guitar in a contemporary vocal group where I became the lead guitarist and vocal arranger, and later became the director. I also played guitar in my church, as well as in a small folk group, performing music of the Beatles, Bacharach, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and many others. I also played or sung in a number of weddings during my college days.

Upon graduation, I moved to the DC area to work in the engineering field, while simultaneously pursuing my music ambition. I studied classical guitar at American University with a student of the great Andres Segovia, and also...

I have been playing for about 35 years and teaching music and guitar for 25 years. I have a Bachelor of Music in Jazz and Classical guitar. I've taught at the University level and currently maintain a professional studio in Arlington, Virginia. I am very well versed in many different styles of music including, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical and Suzuki guitar. Students who decide to sign up with me, will have a lesson plan, a strategy for meeting their musical goals and will enjoy themselves in the process.

With almost 20 years of music and theater related experience, and over 10 years as a vocal coach, I start each day fresh with a desire to pass on my passion for the arts.

I have acquired my Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts in 1997, and am currently working towards my Master of Secondary Education Degree with a proposed graduation date of May 2011. I've been teach Guitar and Bass for about 2 years now. I've recently been tutoring music theory for college level students. I like getting to know my students as I teach them. Not just for the sake of being able to teach you better. Being comfortable just hanging out before, during and, after a lesson makes the learning experience all that much better. Steve is originally from the Binghamton, NY area and began studying drums at the age of 12 with local jazz musician Tony Monforte. He participated in the All State Orchestra and was placed on the Pro-Mark Honor Roll for young, up-and-coming drummers. Steve received a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where he studied with Gordon Stout, Steve Brown, and Robert Bridge. He was selected to participate in the Henry Mancini Institute where he worked with some of the leading jazz, film, and classical musicians and composers from around the world including Terence Blanchard, Bud Shank, Christian McBride, and Jerry Goldsmith. He has also studied with Steve Houghton, Greg Fields, John Vidacovich, and Harold Jones.

Khalil has had a life filled with music. His musical endeavors began at the age of six and since that time he has built mastery in the areas of piano, organ, drums, and saxophone. He sought formal music education at Elizabeth City University where he attended via a scholarship for his skills in rhythm. It was during this time that he strengthened his skills in percussion such as drums and piano. After matriculating Khalil went on to play for several well acclaimed artist and gospel groups throughout his career.
