Sandra began her training at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia. She is a two time recipient of the Mario Lanza Award, and holds a B.M. degree in opera from the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. She studied acting at both the Wilma and Walnut Theaters in Philadelphia. In New York, she studied Shakespeare at the HB Studios, and received on-camera training at the Weisst- Barron Commercial School. Sandra is a member of Actor's Equity.

Sandra was engaged for seven years at Theater des Westens in Berlin, Germany, where she performed extensively in Musicals and Operetta. She also toured throughout Germany with the ensemble "Operetten Express". In the U.S., Sandra has toured nationally with "Man of La Mancha" and "Carousel", and has performed leading roles in many regional theaters. She also performed in the Off-Broadway Musical "Mamaleh". Hi!! My name is Allison. I am a graduate of Eastern University, not far outside of Philadelphia, PA. I received my BA in General Music with a focus on Vocal Performance in 2008. I studied vocal performance under Christine Devault, Carole Latimer and David Bauer and piano under James Correnti. I also studied dance throughout childhood and college and have an extensive knowledge of music theory, conducting, and composition.

I've spent over 9 years working with children of all ages in before and after school programs and summer camps. I've also spent several years helping with various children's choirs and performing groups as well as helping children and youth in preparing for auditions and performances. I've been teaching group music classes and private lessons for over 3 years now and I'm excited to share my experiences and passion with you!

I am a husband and father of 3 girls [Elaine, Grace and Emma]. I studied Music Performance with a concentration in Classical Guitar at Eastern University, where I met my wife Allison who currently teaches Voice and Piano with Take Lessons. I just recently received my Honorable Discharge for 8 years in the US Army and work at The University of Pennsylvania in the School of Medicine. I'm very easy going and patient. I focus on technique and music reading skills rather than building repertoire. I would rather a student that is confident in their ability to play a few songs to a high standard than an unsure student that can play many to a lower standard.

Musically and personally, I strongly feel that diversity and openness are key in a person's development: when we move outside of our comfort zone and embrace the unknown, we are better able to grow as musicians (and human beings). As a performer, I feel that performing with musicians of different backgrounds is a constant source of inspiration and engaging music. As an educator, I emphasize the role of music as a form of expression and its parallel to verbal language. As children, we learn words and sentences so that we can accurately and gracefully express ourselves and, in this sense, music is no different. I encourage students to enjoy the music-making process and to view mechanics as a means to an end.

I have over 20 years of performance experience behind the drum kit and almost just as many years showing my students how to achieve success with short and long term goals. I am Berklee College of Music trained and have enjoyed an exciting career involving international touring, a number one song on Billboard Charts, and drumming on songs featured in commercials and TV show soundtracks. My professional background is in rock and blues music, but I am also well versed in country, funk, pop, and jazz and marching band drumming.

Graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy (high school) and Westminster Choir College (BM, performance), music has always been my passion! Piano and singing lessons began at a young age -- followed by a few years of trumpet lessons. Organ eventually became my focus as well as harpsichord. I have been playing drums for as long as I can remember! Having come from two very musical parents, music has always been an important and powerful force in my life. The son of a versatile drummer, I was introduced to percussion at a very early age, and can recall being sat behind the drum kit as a toddler. Piano was the first percussion instrument I studied formally for several years in early elementary school. In fourth grade my dad set up some drums in our basement, which quickly led to joining the school band, and soon was taking lessons in both drums and keyboard instruments.
My drum studies continued throughout middle school and high school, where I also started developing my voice, singing in several vocal ensembles, as well as playing in marching band, symphonic band, orchestra, and jazz ensemble.
