About Me

Educated in Russia, St. Petersburg Mussorgsky School of Music, classically trained, with over 20 years of teaching experience, in addition to violin I teach Music Theory, Music History, Sight Reading and Ear Training to children and adults of beginning to advanced level. I utilize several teaching methods to best suit the needs of a student and make lessons enjoyable and productive. I introduce my students to a variety of styles while teaching classical techniques for lifetime skills. In addition to teaching, I play with South Bay Philharmonic,Campbell String Orchestra, and an instrumental Ensemble featuring Klezmer Music, Russian Tangos, Brazilian Choros, and Astor Piazzolla.

Music can inspire creativity and growth; it can evoke tranquillity and joy. This was the case for Cindy W. who began playing the piano at the age of ten and within a couple of years studied composers such as Debussy, Liszt, Bach, and Chopin. While only in junior high, she started teaching piano, rapidly gaining teaching and business experience. She held annual recitals giving the students an opportunity to perform for their parents and peers in a public setting.

Cindy studied music for over twenty years with Rachel Perez-Hayes, a graduate from the Juilliard School of Music, New York, and was considered gifted and talented with perfect pitch recognition. Her background in music coupled with a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology has enabled her to create unique lesson plans for each student focusing on individual strength and ability. About Me

I hold a Bachelors of Music degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton California, where I studied piano and music theory. Since then I have been performing and playing piano in clubs and restaurants as a soloist, as a member of small groups, and as a one man orchestra using computer assisted accompaniment. I play a huge variety of musical styles from Bach to Beatles, jazz, pops, standards, and originals.

Also a computer engineer, I have worked in the field of digital audio and video recording technology for some well known Silicon Valley companies such as Adaptec, Roxio, and Stryker. I have my own digital recording studio in my home and I have made many recordings of myself, as well as having composed many piano pieces, concertos and symphonies.

Hello aspiring singers! My name is Jessye and I am a fourth year student at San Jose State University getting my Bachelor's in Music: Opera Performance. I am an active performer but I also love to teach. My focus is Opera, but I love to sing and teach Musical Theater, Pop, Jazz, etc... I believe that every type of singing needs the same foundation for healthy vocal production; with a focus on breathing, tone, and placement. My name is Chris. I am currently a Jazz Studies major at San Jose State University. I began my musical journey at Dartmouth Middle School. I played saxophone, and was only mildly interested in music. I stayed in music in high school, but remained only mildly interested until my Sophomore year. I discovered the trumpet and began to listen to Louis Armstrong, and became obsessed with jazz and mastering the trumpet. In just 2 short years, I had studied enough trumpet to travel South America with the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra. This was an amazing experience that showed me how important music is (especially to people who don't have iPods and computers). After my South American tour, I decided to teach privately and share my talents with the world. I won a scholarship to San Jose State for music excellence in 2009, and joined the Spartan Marching Band. After playing Clarinet for many years I decided to pick up guitar for fun, and loved it. I grew up in the Bay Area and took lessons at local music shops. It has always been my passion, my love, and my everything. I just transferred from West Valley College(Commercial Music major) to Recording Connection(majoring in Recording Arts) in San Francisco, so if you or your child wants to continue after taking lessons with me i can help find a path with music.

How I look at music is if you love it, you know it. The beat of the music is connected with your heart, the melody is what creates your soul, and the harmony is what blends everything together.

I've been teaching guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and songwriting for 20 years, both privately, in music stores, and through various schools and adult education. I also perform and record as a singer/songwriter, am working on my 5th CD, and lead music in churches.

I can teach all styles of music, but specialize in acoustic style folk, bluegrass, Irish, and contemporary Christian. I love to teach first time beginners as well as more advanced, and seem to be able to connect with everyone from 6 years old to 99.

I have a very personalized approach to teaching, developing the curriculum tailored to your own musical tastes, abilities, and amount you want to put into it.

I have been drumming for 15 years and currently I am playing professionally in the Bay Area, after studying Music Performance at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA. I am funny, friendly, outgoing, and love to play drums, along with teaching music.

I tend to work mainly as a "For Hire" drummer on multiple acts including the styles of; Pop/Rock/Funk/Reggae and Hip-hop.
