I was born into a long line of musicians on my mother’s side.

In particular, my Grandfather was a performing musician in the Houston area for many years, and he frequently brought my Mother and her two sisters with him, where they would sing back-up with the band. This gave my Mother a love for music that she passed on to my brother and sister and myself.

I began playing guitar in earnest when I was 18 and studied locally with professional guitarists Richard Greene and Eric Blackmore. I played for several years in the local band Names Withheld and enjoyed performing in various clubs and venues around Colorado Springs. During that time I also gained valuable recording experience and began writing my own songs.

I love all kinds of music, and enjoy learning as much as possible about every type of music out there, from straight rock & roll and blues, to jazz, country, pop, and oldies.

With music programs being eliminated from many school's education, I feel it is even more important than ever for children, off all ages, to participate in some form of musical experience. Being a piano teacher for over twenty five years, I have seen many benefits for those taking music lessons. Some of these benefits are building self esteem and confidence, learning to focus, developing mental discipline, overcoming the fear of getting up in front of crowds, not to mention being able to play songs that we enjoy.

My philosophy of music is that you don't have to be an expert to be able to enjoy playing an instrument. It is not that difficult to learn to play piano or guitar; it just takes a little time and effort. I believe that practicing doesn't have to be hours a day either, unless you want to be a concert pianist or guitarist, but you can accomplish a lot with 15 to 30 minutes of practice each day. Studies have shown that children who take piano lessons get better grades in school. Likewise, it helps to keeps older people's minds sharp. As children approach their teen years and up into adulthood, it gives them great pleasure to play songs that they enjoy listening to and now are able to play on the piano themselves, while often singing along. Playing piano offers a great source of stress release, relaxation and joy.

Playing piano helps to improve coordination in that each hand develops coordination independent of the other. Each hand has completely different movements to perform at the same time and this stimulates the brain. This is just one of the benefits of learning to play piano.

I'm a professional drummer, percussionist, and composer here in Denver offering a fresh new approach to drum instruction. I teach at two separate locations complete with dual drum sets and a complete sound system that allows for both my students and I to play simultaneously and at full live volume!

As a Graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, I've been lucky enough to have studied with some of the most diverse masters of drumset and percussion from several continents around the globe. I am a Colorado Native with a Music Degree from the University of Denver. I started playing the violin in elementary school and never stopped! I picked up the Viola in college. I enjoy playing that as well.
I have been teaching group classes for the Cherry Creek School district for over 10 years and love that. I have been teaching private lessons for over 10 years as well. Both are challenging in very different ways.

Trent has over 15 years of experience polishing his music talents. While working towards his Bachelor's in Music, he also played in a touring band and still managed a 3.8 GPA from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Trent's musical talents have taken him touring all around the country.

Trent started teaching music right after college and has continued for three years. Trent has high expectations and is skilled in helping his students reach their goals. With a constant effort to maintain a fun learning environment and with a focus on reading skills and solid technique, Trent's students enjoy lessons packed with information and a good time. He teaches beginning through advanced bass, and beginning through intermediate guitar and drums.

Kevin was born in Westminster, Colorado, on February 26, 1977. The youngest child in a household that included his mother Ann, father Ron, and brother Brian. Kevin had interest in music at an early age. He started taking private piano lessons at a local music school and progressed very quickly performing at recitals and churches.

After the release of Van Halens ‘1984’ album he became increasingly interested in synthesizers and rock guitar styles. Seven year old Kevin watched in amazement as Eddie Van Halen went from synthesizer wizardry to legendary guitar techniques. The day Eddie Van Halen played on MTV, the guitar-playing Kevin emerged.

I am an experienced teacher who has taught students of all different levels and ages. My students receive classical training on the piano or cello. I understand that a passion for music is the critical ingredient for musical development, and I pass my own love for music to my students. I teach my students to be diligent by having them use practice logs to record their progress. My students learn to understand the musical material and how to practice it at home. I especially focus on learning to read music in my lessons because it is a very important skill.

As I attended the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, I took classes about how to teach music to others. I bring this knowledge and expertise into my lessons. Hey everyone, my name is Greg. Some of you may know me as the lead guitar player from the metal band Allegaeon. What most of your don't know is I love teaching!! Here's a little bit more about myself:

I graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, with a Bachelors degree in classical guitar performance. I have a passion for a wide range of music including fingerstyle acoustic, classical, jazz, heavy metal and funk. I'm currently in the internationally known metal band Allegaeon, on Metal Blade records. I've been called accomplished composer, some songs of which have been released on “Fragments of Form and Function” (2010), a record some critics have hailed as one of the best metal records of 2010, and one inews called "one of the greatest debut albums of all time". Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Since that time, my love for music has grown with each passing day.

I graduated from The Entertainment Career Connection with a certification in Audio Engineering and Production, where I studied audio mixing, recording, production and mastering. I currently study music education at Arapahoe Community College/Denver Metro.

I am very active in the community volunteering my time as the Event Coordinator for a non-profit orginization called The Denver Creative Movement. In addition, I keep myself busy musically playing in my band L.A.M.A. LIVE (Little Ambition Makes A lot), and working on a number of solo projects.

I continue to follow my life-long passion for music by educating others. I believe that music lessons should be a fun and rewarding experience, and place a high value on learning how to use music in everyday life.

I have loved music almost all my life. I began my lifelong journey to immerse myself in learning piano at age seven. At thirteen, I added violin lessons as well. By the time I reached high school, I knew that music would be my major in college, and that music would always be a vital part of my life.
I played violin with my high school orchestra, including taking part in productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Anything Goes. I also played piano with the orchestra, and performed the first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor in concert. I played the piano for my school’s top show choir as well, performing with the group throughout the Denver area. I was also a member of the Colorado All-State Orchestra. All this time, I continued my private lessons in both piano and violin.
