About Me

No need to be nervous before my lessons. My lessons have a comfortable atmosphere where students can be okay with learning with mistakes; through trial and error. I always keep a light mood with quick bits of humor. I teach in a relaxing way, but at the same time you may expect to leave with new musical knowledge every lesson. I enjoy showing the connections between music and other areas of study and life. I always finds ways to work a student's personal interests into lessons. I always strive to help students learn how to practice in an efficient and organized way.

I am a published composer and active performer/teacher/conductor with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Conducting!

Subjects Taught

Clarinet, Flute, Music Performance, Music Theory, Piano, Saxophone

About Me

I started playing saxophone in 1994. It was an immediate passion! As the years went on my thirst for music grew and I picked up more instruments. No matter which instrument I play the passion is the same. I like to write and arrange as well so I feel an extreme importance on music theory. I am classically trained although my drive is always towards roots music. I try my hardest to combine those two elements.

I currently play baritone saxophone in the Uptown Savages. I am also in the Dead Man's Carnival. In that I may play Alto, Tenor, Baritone Sax, Flute, Bass Clarinet, Accordion, Piano or sing. You can hear me on recordings by the Invaders, Midwest Death Rattle, Into Arcadia, various compilation albums throughout the world and the soon to be released Uptown Savages Album.

About Me

I am a Milwaukee area musician that enjoys music in all its diverse forms. My main instrument is the trombone (specifically the bass trombone) but I regularly teach and play all the low brass instruments, including baritone/euphonium and tuba. I also have a good deal of experience playing and teaching guitar and ukulele as well. I enjoy teaching above all else and hope to share the wonderful things music has done for me. Steven Z. Milwaukee, WI

Subjects Taught

Accompaniment, Classical Piano, Music Theory, Piano

About Me

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee earning a MM in piano performance. I graduated with a BA in performance from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2014.
I have experience teaching students of several ages and skill levels. Whether the student is a beginner or an advanced player, I can provide new skills that they can take with them throughout their life, not just in music!
I'm a former piano instructor of Hovland Conservatory in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. For a few short months I taught about 40 students a week. Along with my experience, I've taken courses on piano pedagogy reviewing methods and styles of teaching where I learned valuable skills and methods. Because of this experience I am qualified to teach piano and theory lessons.
I'm clear, friendly and patient! Being a piano student my whole life has taught me what works and what doesn't, which shows in the development of my students.
I love to teach students of all levels and ages!
