I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. Early on I learned the need to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student discover and nurture their abilities, no matter what age the student may be.

The Holistic Piano method is especially effective with my Autism-spectrum students, a segment of the population I find particularly rewarding to teach.

I fell in love with music at an early age; my mother taught piano in our home, my brother became an acclaimed concert pianist and I followed along but was more drawn to popular music. I have played keyboards and at times bass with five different Canadian touring bands over 10 years, and have taught youths to adults off and on every since.

I am one of those individuals for whom teaching is just something that I have to do. I started giving music lessons sometime in the 80’s and have loved working with all levels of skill and experience. My students say that I am patient, adaptive and encouraging, committed to making music fun.

I have a Masters of Music from New England Conservatory in Jazz Piano and am comfortable and fluent in a number of musical styles, including pop, rock, gospel, traditional hymnody, jazz, and R&B. Although I love and study classical music, it is not something I teach at this point.

Caleb H. is a professional musician in the boston area playing trumpet and piano with Churches and Jazz Bands around the city. He would start playing piano at the age of 6 and trumpet at 12 yet progress to where at the age of 16 he would attend the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Caleb would graduate here to attend Berklee College of Music. At Berklee He Studies with Charles Lewis and Maintains a full performance schedule with his own group "Group Caleb". Caleb H. plays with the likes of Joe Sidero, Mike Ball, David Ehle, and Gillian Delear, and is the pianist at the Haitian Baptist Church in Dorchester.

Marshall W., a resident of Quincy MA, has been a part of the music scene for over thirty years. He is well-versed in a variety of musical styles including jazz, new age, blues and rock. Marshall's professional experience includes stints with the Whipplesnappers jazz band and the rock group Alternative Riot. He has also served as Head Chimer for a large Boston church, and has played for mnay church services, meetings and private parties.

I'm a guitarist with four years' of college-level instruction. I have a deep understanding of music theory and songwriting, especially in the pop, rock, blues, and metal styles. I have formed and lead a rock band with two CD's under its belt, and I have written everything from hymns to 1980's power ballads to string quartets. I know how music works. I know how to dissect it, explain it, and construct it.

On the educational side, I have over three years' teaching experience. I have taught the SAT's and critical writing to high-schoolers, I currently teach English to middle and high school students in south Boston, I routinely substitute teach in K-6th grade classrooms, and I have passed every state exam to obtain official teacher licensure in Massachusetts. I enjoy teaching, especially to young children and beginners.

I have been playing the bass guitar and guitar for about fifteen years, where I have specialized in Funk, Funk-Rock, Alternative Rock, and Reggae. The bass guitar is my primary instrument, as I currently play in a Funk-Rock group that has performance experience in New Orleans and Boston.

Sophia was born in Moscow, Russian. During her childhood she was raised in Siberia, where she received her first violin lessons at age 6. Violin lessons were not the only lesson that was twice a week, she also received private piano, music literature, music history, theory and dance. Sophia's parents encouraged her to learn everything about classical music because they themselves were successful musicians with awards. This is how Sophia's musical journey began with love for music and patience for hard work.

After graduating music school in Moscow, Russia, Sophia moved to Anchorage, AK, where she had her first professional job as the musician in Anchorage symphony orchestra at age 15. At that moment she realized that music was her destiny and that nothing would make her give up her precious instrument.

I began taking both voice and piano lessons at the age of 11, after years of sitting outside my older sisters’ clarinet lessons and wishing to study music, myself. I fell in love with music at my very first lesson, and knew that it was what I would do with my life. While still in high school, I began teaching, spending my summers teaching music at a children's arts camp. I went on to attend New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where I received my Bachelor of Music in vocal performance. I have experience teaching piano to students ranging from 4-year-old beginners to experienced adults, and my voice students have ranged from novices to conservatory-bound high-school seniors. I currently live in Roslindale, MA, and am available to teach both in my home studio and in students' homes in the Roslindale/Jamaica Plain/West Roxbury area.

Being "classically trained" does not make you a more legit singer. Having taken both classical and contemporary studies, I've gained an awareness of how diverse of a singer I can be with both!
I attended the Boston Arts Academy High School and Berklee College of Music in Boston MA and in my short 15 years of singing, I've been able to able to navigate through many genres of music simply because of the technique acquired, not because of the style of music I chose to sing.

I've sang with/for artists such as; Toby Keith, Chaka Khan, Floetry and Ledisi and most recently the Boston POPs.

I am a percussionist with 18 years of experience on drum set, mallet instruments (i.e. Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone), and Steel Drum. I’ve played in many different styles of music from classical and jazz to world and latin. I have a passion for teaching and make it my goal to guide my students to their fullest potential.

I hold a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Percussion Studies and Music Education from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. After which, I obtained my certification to teach Kindergarten to 12th grade music and have done so in the towns of Randolph and Brookline.

As a performer, I have played with world renowned jazz artists such as bassist Santi Debriano and world music African drummer/jazz drum set player Royal Hartigan. On the weekends, you might find me jamming on drum set at a local jazz club or playing a shaker in one hand, bongos with another, and a woodblock with my foot in a college level...

Kay is an professional soprano based in the Boston area equally at home in concert repertoire and opera. Possessing a naturally light clear agile tone she finds a special affinity for early music and contemporary music alike.

An avid equestrienne and animal lover she began teaching horseback riding professionally and entered the Harvard Extension Health Careers Program with the intention of pursing a career in veterinary medicine. However singing proved too powerful a calling and she is thrilled to be making music again.

Her musical studies began at age 8 with piano then taking voice lessons soon thereafter. She enjoyed many years performing in musical theater but settled comfortably in classical music where she felt most at home.
