Born to an award winning conductor and music teacher, I was exposed to music at a very early age. With my father’s supervision, I began my piano and ear-training at the age of three. At age four, I joined the Yamaha musical after-school program and engaged in group lessons. As I got older, group lessons gave way to private instruction as I learned and played piano passionately through my childhood.
I was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan and left my native land in 2006 to the United States to better my education. In school I studied general music, with an emphasis on piano. Additionally, I have also studied Early Childhood Development and Education.

Music can inspire creativity and growth; it can evoke tranquility and joy. This was the case for Cindy W. who began playing the piano at the age of ten and within a couple of years studied composers such as Debussy, Liszt, Bach, and Chopin. While only in junior high, she started teaching piano, rapidly gaining teaching and business experience. She held annual recitals giving the students an opportunity to perform for their parents and peers in a public setting.
Cindy studied music with Rachel Perez-Hayes, a graduate from the Juilliard School of Music, New York, and was considered gifted and talented with perfect pitch recognition. Her background in music coupled with a Master's degree in Educational Psychology has enabled her to create unique lesson plans for each ...
Hi there! I am finishing up my BM at San Jose State University, and have been teaching voice and piano lessons for 4 years. I have over 13 years of experience in music, musical theater, and singing, and 19 years of piano training. My most exciting accomplishment to date is my artist residency with Opera San Jose for the 2014/2015 season.
Although my main passion is opera performance I absolutely LOVE to teach as well! I can teach voice to students of all ages and in all styles, and also teach beginning to intermediate piano for all ages.
I usually like to split the lessons in half: the first half on technique (breathing exercises, posture, body alignment, warm-ups, vowel clarity) and the second half on repertory. I can teach my students to sing in Italian, ...

Empowering people with music is my greatest passion! From the time I was a small child, I knew that following this passion would be my life's path. I began studying piano at age 7 and voice at 13. I graduated from San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor's of Music in vocal performance and MA from San Jose State University majoring in voice. I have taught on the voice faculties of San Jose State University and Chabot College. I have had the great honor of performing as a soloist around the world including touring as soprano soloist with Ballet San Jose throughout China, Sarasota Opera, American Opera Projects in New York City, Opera San Jose, Virginia Opera Education Outreach, and touring with Opera Aegean throughout Greece. I also love bringing music to people ...
