I have a very extensive background when it comes to music. I learned piano at a very young age and once I started, I was hooked. I learned trombone, harmonica, guitar, and many other instruments. There wasn't anywhere in the world of music I wasn't willing to go! Throughout middle school and high school I took advantage of every opportunity I could. This included, Symphonic band, Jazz band, A Capella choir, Percussion Ensemble, and countless different small groups. When it came time to look at college, I took my commitment to music to an even deeper level. I decided to major in and exclusively study music. I continued in all of the ensembles I had been in and many more ranging from playing with string ensembles to playing in campus rock bands. This experience developed my skills even farther. I have been on the music faculty of Colorado State University, University of Puget Sound, and Duke University, and I was the contracted keyboardist with the Southwest Symphony Orchestra for many years. These professional teaching and performing experiences have taught me much about teaching and the needs of students, and all this I bring to your lesson. Hi! I'm Scott, and I'm a native of this great State of Colorado! I fell in love with the drums in 6th grade, and have never looked back! I too, began by taking private lessons, having been fortunate to be able to study under one of the best performers and private teachers in the Rocky Mountain West at the time.

Beginning private instruction in Elementary School, I continued for 7 years even while embarking on a performance career in high school. Since then I've both performed and recorded a wide variety of styles including most forms of rock, country, jazz, pop, Gospel, symphonic/orchestral styles, and concert and marching band styles. I've also been fortunate to be able to teach many other students over these last 29 years of my career, and watch them achieve their own goals in drumming.

Kevin was born in Westminster, Colorado, on February 26, 1977. The youngest child in a household that included his mother Ann, father Ron, and brother Brian. Kevin had interest in music at an early age. He started taking private piano lessons at a local music school and progressed very quickly performing at recitals and churches.

After the release of Van Halens ‘1984’ album he became increasingly interested in synthesizers and rock guitar styles. Seven year old Kevin watched in amazement as Eddie Van Halen went from synthesizer wizardry to legendary guitar techniques. The day Eddie Van Halen played on MTV, the guitar-playing Kevin emerged.

Hi! If you want to learn how to play drums just like your drum heroes, then let me help you! Playing the drums takes some practice, but it's so much fun! I am here to show you how to hear a song, pick out the drum parts, and then work on coordinating your hands and feet until you can play the song through like a pro!
We will also work on soloing, so when you sit down at the drums, you'll be able to come up with cool drum parts on your own!

I am a Music graduate from Hunter College and a native of New York City, where I was once the music director for the Holy Rosary Theater Group. I have performed in various college ensemble and city groups across New York, New Jersey, and Colorado. I also had wonderful opportunities to perform in pit orchestras for Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels while living in New York City.
