Hi! My name is Mike C. and I am excited at the prospect of teaching you or your child.

I absolutely love to teach, but not just because of my love for the drums or my life-long appreciation of music, but because of my enjoyment of people and the learning process itself. I feel that this is important to mention, because if I didn’t enjoy what I did and take pride in working with people, then my teaching skills, curriculum, and experience would mean nothing. As anybody who has played a musical instrument can attest to, learning something new is difficult, and having a patient teacher who enjoys working with people is mandatory.

Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to study with some amazing teachers, including Carmine Appice (author of “Realistic Rock” and drummer for Rod Stewart, Vanilla Fudge, Cactus and Jeff Beck), Jason Lingle (Berklee School Of Music), Keith Harris (drummer for The Black Eyed Peas) and Lee Nichols, to name a few. I began learning percussion and guitar when I was eight years old, I picked up horn when I was fifteen, and double bass when I was sixteen. I have experience both in marching band/concert bands as well as rock/pop bands. I currently perform in the Orange Coast College Symphony Orchestra as a percussionist and in the Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps on the mellophone line. I am double majoring in Music Education and Music Composition, and can help you to learn any style you'd like to know on your instrument.

I also am an avid singer/songwriter, and spend a lot of my time playing video games such as Minecraft, League of Legends, and Skyrim. I like to surf and skateboard and I'm very laid back and easy-going.

My name is Jason, and I'm a music/percussion/composition major at Cypress College. But lets try not to be so formal (that's what all the information below is for). In reality, I'm just an experienced drummer/percussionist who's looking to take on a few students to help and teach, and have some fun along the way. Not to say I can't be professional and formal when necessary, but that's not how I am all the time. In reality, I'm a rather laid back guy who loves teaching, drum set and other forms of percussion especially, and I'm looking for students who range from laid back, casual/ recreational players, who just want to get better so as to help express themselves throw their music, to more devoted, intensely involved players who seek training as a means to help advance themselves, and gain a professional status in their music and be as successful as they can possibly be, because, simply put, they love music, as well as everything in between.

I bring a dynamic and multifaceted perspective to the creative exploration of the percussive arts, with over 40 years of diverse musical experience which includes performing with Nigerian master drummer Francis Awe’s Talking Drum Ensemble, competing to top international honors with the Misty Isle Pipe Band, ensembles large and small covering music in a wide range of genres, as well as extended experience in solo accompaniment for modern dance and performance art. I have performed with renowned musicians such as Dave Holland, Albert Mangelsdorf, Bobby Bradford, Fred Katz, Lee Konitz, Don Thompson, Ralph Alessi, Vinny Golia, Karl Denson, Kei Akagi, among many others.

Hello, My name is Cort and I love to teach music. I am currently taking on more students for the following instruments: Guitar, Drums, Bass. I have successfully instructed students from age 5 - 65 and gain tremendous satisfaction from helping my students achieve their goals of learning an instrument and/or progressing to a greater ability on their instrument. I teach beginning and intermediate up to the advanced level and all aspects of music (reading, writing, theory, chords, scales, modes, composition, and most styles of music). I have been playing and performing for over 25 years. I have an AA degree with a concentration in music education. I have studied privately with legendary jazz/fusion drummer, composer, and actor Alphonse Mouzon (drum set) and with guitar genius Julian Coryell (son of legendary jazz guitarist Larry Coryell). Patrick O'Konski is currently finishing his B.M. at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music with an emphasis in Music Performance. He has performed in many different musical settings, from band and orchestra to choirs, jazz and rock bands. Patrick is comfortable teaching all levels and ages and brings his wealth of experience in wide variety of genres to give the student the education they seek and deserve.

I have been a drummer for 25 years. I have been playing, writing and teaching percussion professionally for 15 years now. I attended Valencia high school in Placentia, California and was immediately hired to teach drums there after graduating. I have also attended the Los Angeles Music Academy, studying under drum legends Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro.

I have taught at over 15 different institutions ranging from middle school, high school, youth band and drum corps. I have also taught hundreds of private lessons. Other teachers of mine include: Tom Float, Mark Schulman, Phil Mortensen, Sherman Ferguson, Alan Waddington, Mike Packer, Mike Shapiro, Poncho Sanchez, Pete Sapadin and David Beyer.

Since graduating from the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) in 1989 I have given over 12,000 private lessons to students of all ages!! I have recorded several albums, toured around the globe and taught at drumming events across the country.

I teach all styles of contemporary drum set and marching snare drum.

In 2010, I was named "Educator of the Year" by the drumming web site "United Groove Workers".

I am a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and The Professional Drum Teachers Guild. I am endorsed by Vic Firth Drum Sticks and Supernatural Cymbals.

I am experienced with special needs students (autism, down syndrome) and children as young as 4 years old.

I have studied, performed and taught music for over 25 years. Accordion was my first instrument at age 7 followed by drums and guitar. I studied with great teachers in the past as well as at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. I have also performed at the Cape Cod Jazz Festival, The Bakersfield Jazz Festival and numerous club dates and private functions throughout New York, New England and Califomia.

I have been a student of the drums myself for 17 years. I started like many musicians have, learning to play a musical instrument in the school orchestra. I picked up some drum sticks and haven't put them down since. My favorite styles of music are funk and rock. I have studied orchestral drumming, drumset, and music theory for 2 years at the university level. I love to teach and finding ways of making drumming easy to understand. I currently play with 2 bands and record whenever an opportunity arises.
