I have a Master's Degree (2012) in teaching English to other language speakers, and Bachelors in Music Education (2010), both from Florida Atlantic University, as well as degree in violin performance from Poland.
I studied piano in Poland for 10 years & taught both piano & violin for over 20 years. I also teach flute & cello for the past 5 years, as I studied them during my Music Education program.
I teach music for over 24 years using the traditional and Suzuki methods. I am fan of the Essential Elements 2000 for violin, viola or cello, and the Alfred's Piano Library for piano. Alfred's piano library can be used for any age as they also have books especially made for adult learners.
I personalize every lesson, and always set goals for my students. Most of my violin students are members of the Florida Youth Orchestra and my piano students participate in Pompano Beach competition and the annual Piano Guild.
I teach any age and any level, and always stress that learning a new instrument is very similar to learning a new language, needs a lot of patience, persistence and repetitions. My lessons are customized to my students needs, and are work in progress as they needs may change over time. However, music can give my students instant gratification by letting them play favorite songs. I always encourage my students to tell me about their music preferences, so I can incorporate them in their music lessons.
Maria was born in La Habana, Cuba. She started her music studies at the early age of 4 years old, singing and acting in tv shows and receiving piano lessons.
At 7 years old entered Manuel Saumell Music Consevatory where she studied piano and choir direction. She continues her music studies at Amadeo Roldan Music Conservatory, one of the most prestigious music schools in Cuba, where she completed piano, flute and theoretical subjects. In 2000, she traveled to United Arab Emirates, as a part of work tour, where she played for two years in different scenarios in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Back in La Habana, Cuba, she entered the Superior Institute of the Arts, where she graduated with honors in flute and piano performance.
In 2006 she moved to the United States where she continues her music career performing, recording and teaching.
Besides her performer career she's been trained as a teacher, having extensive experience with all ages, from 5 years old to adults.

I was honored to be nominated each year while teaching at Ainger for the Charlotte County Teacher of the Year and was selected as the 2004 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year for Charlotte County. This honor comes from student nominations that are sent in and was awarded $1000 to purchase supplies for my program.
Professionally, I have served as the Florida Bandmasters Association District 16 Secretary (Middle School), as well as the District 15 Secretary and later Chairperson in addition to being a member of the the the FBA State Executive Board and Broward Music Educators Association. (BMEA) Executive Board. I have performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera, Ingersoll Children's and Dinner Theatres, Drama Workshop, Des Moines Playhouse, Oster Regent Theatre and was selected by the Donna Reed Foundation in 1998 as the Top Iowa Vocalist.
I studied flute with Ms. Karrie Tate and voice with Dr. Les Hale, Dr. Robert L. Larsen, Dr. Maria DiPalma and Ms. Jacqueline Thompson.
I believe that every student, regardless of ability or age, can grow musically. My purpose is to enrich and challenge students by helping them discover the special meaning that exists only in creating, re-creating, and experiencing music. In this way, I hope to inspire and motivate your child to achieve their fullest potential in music.

I graduated from Princeton University in 2008 with a major in philosophy and minors in French literature and music performance. I consider myself a lover of learning in all subjects, and as such am very comfortable tutoring any subject at most levels.
With respect to flute, I have studied with many renowned musicians including Steve Burns, Gene Tarrant (Florida Philharmonic), Christine Nield-Capote (Florida Philharmonic) and Renee Siebert (New York Philharmonic), Keith Underwood, and Linda Chesis (Manhattan School of Music) in New York.
"Steven is very professional and extremely helpful. He always has a smile on and is serious about helping you phrase the music. I would highly recommend him to anyone."
"It's been really exciting so far! Jordan has been so helpful, so knowledgeable. I could not have found a better instructor and I'm getting better and better every day."
"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
