I was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, where I took piano lessons from age eight through college. I graduated from Indiana University, which has one of the top-rated music schools in the country, with a BA in History and French and a minor in music. Music has always been a central part of my life. For several summers I attended Rocky Ridge Music Center in Colorado, where I studied piano and music theory with university music faculty from across the country. In high school I played piano and clarinet in band and received division I ratings at the state solo piano competition. I also have an MA degree in history and have worked as an adjunct college history instructor. Since moving to Texas I’ve taught piano lessons and also worked with Dallas area band students as a piano accompanist for the district and state solo competitions. Besides teaching and performing, I’m a graduate student and am working on completing a PhD in history.

I have been a musician since the age of 5 and began singing at the age of 15, after which I continued my classical vocal studies at Southern Methodist University. I teach both private voice and piano. I also work as an Elementary Music Instructor in the Dallas Independent School District. My accomplishments as an educator include Teacher of the Year for the 2009--2010 school year as well as Director of the All City Elementary Honor Choir in Dallas. In addition to teaching, I have performed in musicals with numerous theaters in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

I have been a music teacher and private lesson instructor for the past 15 years. I have a bachelor of science degree in Music Education and hold a teaching certificate for all-level Music Education. In my private studio I have taught students from 3-70 and have enjoyed them all! In addition to teaching music I also serve as the Music Minister for my church. Students coming to me can expect a tremendous amount of experience as well as a committed, honest and caring teacher.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in music w/ a piano concentration & a Master of Music in music theory degree both from the University of Maryland. I also started a Ph.D degree in music theory from the University of North Texas. I can help you become the best musician you can be & I can help you attain your goals. I have 15years full time teaching experience & I have also taught at the community college & at the university level. I love teaching very much & I love sharing it w/ others!

I love learning, and I love sharing how to learn. I began as a self-taught pianist at age 12, and from ages 14 to the present I have had the experience of studying with some of the most phenomenal teachers of this generation. George Katz, former chair of the Drake University Piano Department and student of the legendary artists Alfred Cortot and Marguerite Long; Jerome Lowenthal, also a student of Cortot (and William Kapell) and former chair of the Julliard piano department, and Jose Feghali, winner of the 1985 Cliburn Gold Medal have been my most influential teachers. From them, I learned how to learn, how to teach, and how to teach learning, which I believe is the most important skill.

As a winner of the 2000 Interlochen Concerto Competition, I had my orchestral debut that year with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at 16. Following that, I have given concerts all over the U.S., some parts of Mexico, Malmo and Stockholm, Sweden, and in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The one thing I love about teaching is seeing the student actually get it! There will be so many hours put into learning there instrument and let me tell you, it gets frustrating for the student.. Music is a way of connecting peoples' passions, dreams, and goals. It calms the mind, soothes the soul, and brings joy to the hardest and saddest of hearts. I am currently working on my Bachelor's degree in Music Education at Dallas Baptist University. Needless to say, my life literally revolves around music. I have taken piano since early elementary school and have a passion to share my love of music with others. I have studied under Laura Lozano until graduation from high school and under Beth Quillian at DBU. I have taught piano lessons for a few years now and cannot find another joy that compares to watching a child's face when they find worth in themselves and are proud of the music they are making! Singer-songwriter, performer, producer, and teacher Christina is a multi-talented musician who has been playing piano as a professional musician for over 18 years. Christina has been involved with music for all her life. Born with perfect pitch and playing piano at the age of three, she has been taking private classical lessons from professors from UNT and has developed her skills throughout playing different genres of style. Christina has had vocal training for 10 years and participated in advanced choirs and jazz ensembles at UNT. Christina has a wonderful passion for music and has a gift of teaching students.
