About Me
Hi! My name is Beckie and I have played music for all of my life. I play many different instruments such as the Trumpet, French horn and Piano. I graduated from Chapman University in 2010 with 2 degrees in music, Music Education and Music Performance on French horn. I also taught elementary school for 3 years and was a brass coach for a Montessori Academy. I am currently a substitute teacher for the Malibu and Santa Monica school District. I love teaching!

About Me
Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.
I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! The trumpet has been a huge passion for as long as I can remember now!
While I was learning songs as a child, I decided I wanted to join a band! Now here we are 10 years later and I've have the fortune of performing as a lead singer in bands across the country, and let me tell you there is no bigger thrill than getting...

Matt is a talented and versatile instructor and I have learned a lot during my lessons with him. His lesson have just the right balance of learning music theory, practicing existing songs, and learning new music and techniques.
Originally from Chicago, I attended Chicago Musical College for 2 years before moving to Calif. and receiving my B.A. in music from Cal. State Northridge. I also have an M.A. in Education from there. I have been a band director in public schools for over 40 years. My bands have won over 50 1st place awards in music competitions. I have been playing keyboard professionally since the age of 14. I truly enjoy working with both kids and adults on a one on one basis, and provide a relaxed and friendly, yet goal-oriented experience.

We laugh a lot when I goof up and he kindly leads me to where it will be better. We have had only 3 lessons so far and I have practiced every day, sometimes more than once per day and he says he can tell. Rob is a very experienced teacher and musician.
