Hello! My name is Monica N. and I am a violin instructor currently living in New York City. I have been studying and performing for 14 years, 6 years under Richard Chang, Julliard graduate and former student of Dorothy DeLay and Hyo Rang. I’ve performed with countless ensembles, from string quartets and chamber ensembles to the Maryland State Orchestra and National Festival Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. I have also performed with smaller groups playing tango, flamenco, and swing jazz.
As a violin instructor, I absolutely love sharing my passion for this instrument with others and developing creative exercises to nurture good form and technique. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all method to learning, and that my job as a teacher is to discover what methods works best for the student and develop learning tools accordingly. I pride myself on putting creativity and expression on the same par as technical mastery, and enjoy encouraging students to see the value in both.

Kenny W., Merit Scholarship student of Karen Dreyfus, graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelors of Music in Viola Performance in 2006. Served as Principal Viola of the Manhattan School of Music Symphony, Kenny has also collaborated and played under the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Pierre Boulez, Kurt Masur, etc. Kenny W. has studied with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, American String Quartet, Amadeus Quartet, among others.

Violist, Kenny W., is active in collaborations involving experimental, pop, improvising, arranging, recording, with an eclectic sensibility. Performing at venues including Radio City Music Hall to Carnegie Hall, Kenny is not only very active in NYC's music scene and industry, but on television as well with appearances from shows such as David Letterman to 30 Rock. Collaborations/performances with varied groups/artists such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Phill Niblock, Julia Wolfe, Pierre Boulez, etc.

I graduated from Mannes College of Music with a BS in violin performance. While at Mannes, I was a student of Sally Thomas and other primary teachers include Claudia Schaer, Amy Barlowe and Oscar Ravina. I have had chamber music studies with Ann Setzer, Peter Prosser, Chin Kim, Gena Raps, and members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and NY Philharmonic. Masterclasses include those with Cho-Liang Lin, Pamela Frank, and Ida Kavafian. I am graduate of the Mannes Pre-College division Honors program and alumna of both the New York Youth Symphony and Meadowmount School of Music.

I have had 15 years of teaching experience, and I also have a minor in psychology with a specialization in developmental and educational psychology.

I am also registered with the Suzuki Association of America and have completed Suzuki teacher training for books 1 - 4 at NY's School for Strings. I am also currently undergoing training for Suzuki books 5 - 8.

My experiences have been far-reaching . I was trained formally as a concertise of the classical guitar. I studied at the Cleveland Music School Settlement and at the Cleveland State University before my sojourn to Vienna, Austria where I was accepted as a student at the Academie for Music and Performing Arts, arriving there at the age of 19, becoming a protege of Luise Walker-Hesjek.

I have been a teacher of guitar since my High School days.

I am a formidable teacher of the concert classical guitar and also am an excellent educator of blues and jazz music. Hi! I'm Heather, an operatic soprano and violinist. I'm in my final year of Juilliard's Master of Music program, and I completed my undergraduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
I started studying music at a very young age, so I know what it's like to be a young student: I really like to keep things fun, but I'm versatile and can be quite strict if (and only if) that's a student's preference. I like to cater my teaching-- in both method and presentation-- to the individual student.
I consider myself very lucky in that I am able to live a life in and about music, and I am very excited to share that joy!

Born in Korea, violinist Anna Jihyun P. moved to New York at the age of 13 to pursue her studies at the Juilliard Pre-College with Hyo Kang. In 2005, the year she began her undergraduate studies at Juilliard, she gave a recital at the Samsung Experience in New York City as the recipient of the “Samsung Award Student of The Juilliard School”. In 2008, Anna gave a concert with the Kangwon Festival Ensemble in Korea as part of the Rising Star series at the Great Mountains International Festival & School. Anna was the first-prize winner of the 2010 Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra Competition and performed Elgar’s violin concerto with conductor Toshiyuki Shimada in 2011. She has been performing as a member of Sejong Soloists as well as her Allant Trio, which has made their mark with notable performances and significant commitment to community engagement.

A native of Cincinnati, Jessica started the violin through the Suzuki program at the age of four. "Witches' Dance" was her favorite song. Eventually, she became a student of the Starling Preparatory Program at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. As a participant, she fell in love with ensemble playing and developed a ease on stage through the program's many performances. She was fortunate to perform amazing works in amazing places as she traveled the world on the program's orchestra tours, and she became a seasoned euchre player through countless hours of games on the tour bus.

I am also a graduate of New York University, where I completed my Bachelor of Music degree in String Performance. I have appeared in both solo and chamber settings at venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, the Tenri Cultural Institute, Galapagos Art Space, Le Poisson Rouge, the Flea Theater, and Steinway Hall. I have also played in master classes given by violinists Aaron Rosand, Hyo Kang, and Arnold Steinhardt of the Guarneri String Quartet. My playing has taken me to Spain and Peru, where I accompanied NYU’s Artists-in-Residence ensemble, Combo Nuvo at the Jazz Perú Internacionál Festival.

I started the violin in Northfield, Minnesota, and since then have learned and performed music in a variety of settings. I graduated from Vassar College in May 2010 with honors in music, where I studied with Betty-Jean Hagen, a former student of Ivan Galamian. I was concertmaster of the Vassar College Orchestra for 3 years and twice performed solos with the orchestra. I also performed solo recitals, and participated in a number of chamber groups as well as baroque, and contemporary music ensembles. Over the years, I have participated in a number of acclaimed chamber music programs and festivals, the IES Abroad Vienna Music Program, Killington Music Festival, Artaria Chamber Music School, Madeline Island Music Center, and Birch Creek Music Center. I also have a rich orchestral background, and in addition to the Vassar College Orchestra was concertmaster of the Eastern Music Festival Orchestra, the Minnesota Youth Symphonies, and a number of smaller orchestras. As a native of Orlando, FL, Amy B. has been a member and performed with many orchestras in the Southeast, including the Tallahasse Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, and Mobile, AL orchestras. In 1999 she was invited to join the Eastern Music Festival's faculty orchestra for performances throughout their summer program.

In addition to the classical realm, Amy also enjoys performing in a variety of genres. She has performed in sold-out arena shows with popular artists, such as Kanye West, Marco Antonio Solis, and the Three Mo Tenors. She has been recording and performing with noted composer and pianist, Tim Janis, and appears annually in Carnegie Hall with his ensemble. Beginning in August, 2008, Amy went on a national PBS tour for three months with the composer, covering 60 cities all across the United States.
