Hello! I am a young motivated piano teacher living and working in the Richmond area. I have more than 15 years of experience playing piano.

As someone who has had literally hundreds of piano lessons, I can appreciate what makes a lesson "good". I remember as a kid always feeling bad for my friends who dreaded going to their music lessons. I was lucky to have wonderful teachers and enjoy my experience studying and playing music.

As a teacher, I am committed to making sure my students have the same positive experience. I take having a fun seriously with my students whether they are 5 or 50. Playing the piano has way too many benefits to become a chore! I have high expectations for my students and help them reach their goals in a low-key, non-stressful, pleasant environment.

Palmer is guitar teacher that just moved to Richmond, Virginia from Northern Virginia. He has been playing for twelve years and has been teaching for two years. He specializes in Rock, Hard-Rock, Metal, Folk and Blues. He has experience teaching students of all ages and guarantees that his students will maintain a thorough knowledge of music theory and correct guitar technique while having a blast with what they're learning.

Palmer has played with several local bands in Northern Virginia and is currently working on a project in Richmond. In addition to being a teacher Palmer writes music reviews and has had interviews with many bands in the Richmond/Northern Virginia area. Palmer's love for music and his passion for guitar can definitely be seen in both his approach to teaching and his everyday life.

I studied under Mr. Willis Ley at Ley Studio for eighteen years. She was an accompanist for the Heritage School of Dance for twelve years and also played for the School for the Richmond Ballet for One Year. Sandra was trained in contemporary, patriotic and classical music as well as music theory. She has taught children and adults piano both in their homes as well as in her home. She is an accomplished pianist who will give the student a rewarding and fulfilling experience in mastering the keyboard to their fullest potential and play any song for there own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others.

I have played guitar for 20 years and have taught guitar to students ages 5 to 55. I graduated from VCU in 2000 with a Jazz Studies Degree where I also learned Classical Style guitar.
After graduating from VCU, I moved to NYC to teach and play and to immerse myself in the music scene there. After many great experiences with gigs in the city and some great students, I came back to Richmond to be closer to family in 2003 and have loved living in Richmond ever since. In Richmond, I have enjoyed teaching and playing around town. I can teach anything from the Blues, Pop, Folk, Rock, Classical, and Jazz.

Jeff began playing guitar at the age of ten. His very first performance was in the fifth grade, performing in a rock band. In high school he sang in the concert choir, chamber ensemble and studied music theory piano and classical guitar. After high school, Jeff obtained a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music Composition from Virginia Commonwealth University and continued classical guitar studies with Jesus Silva who studied with Andres Segovia. After graduating college, he directed the guitar program at J Sargeant Reynolds Community College for nearly a decade, receiving a faculty recognition and achievement award for five or more years of outstanding service. Jeff currently performs with his own group called the Jeff H. trio, specializing in contemporary jazz performing at various venues and occasions.

TIM B. was born and raised in South Africa. He published his first song at the age of twelve, demonstrating to those around him that his promising career in the music industry was imminent. He was tutored at a prestigious private music school in Cape Town, South Africa while attending elementary and high school. The latter part of high school saw the end of the apartheid years in South Africa, and for the first time in 40 years, South Africans were allowed into international competition. This culminated in an orchestral tour throughout Europe, where he represented South Africa in a youth orchestra that received the acclaimed status of first prize at the Vienna International Youth Music Festival. This cemented Tim’s determination to make music his career. He received the best student award trophies for both High School and Music School before entering university.

Hello, I am a professional musician with over 21 years of service as a military bandsmen. I’ve been stationed all over the world and have had the privilege to perform in some of the greatest concert halls. I love to work with students of all ages and can teach beginning-intermediate piano, and beginning-advanced flute. Prior to joining the military, I taught general music in the Texas Public School system. I have a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Texas at Arlington.
