Robert H. Pikesville, MD

About Robert

Creativity, skill and love of music are the key elements that I work to encourage in every student. Over the years my teaching has evolved and I find it gratifying to take people far beyond their own expectations while helping them achieve their goals. I believe everyone is musical and just needs the right key to tap into their own creativity. For beginners it's important to study with an excellent teacher. Setting a solid and creative foundation makes all the difference! For advanced players studying with a great artist takes you greater artistry. Weekly private lessons focus on technical skills in either piano, voice (or a combination of both) and a strong musical foundation. Theory and Ear Training are fundamentals that are embedded in this approach to developing a complete ...

I have only received 3 lessons so far and all have been a wonderful experience. I am not a professional singer nor have I ever had any lessons singing. I simply just want to learn 1 song to sing to my future husband. OJ has made every lesson fun while I am learning and I know in time I will reach my goal.

Fun, Easy to Work with

This teacher has an easy, fun loving spirit. I have learned important tips to improve my singing, such as, to name a few, where to place my tongue, the importance of enunciation, and scaling from high to low notes without breaking. I would recommend him as a teacher.

Great Teacher

Throughout my life, I have been singing in Gospel choirs and for years, I have been an alto. After meeting with OJ, he helped me find my voice. He was able to determine my vocal range and I found out that I was never an alto, but a lyric soprano. I was so shocked, but excited at the same time. I thought that was amazing because he helped me discover my true vocal range. OJ is knowledgeable, patient, and fun to work with.
Nathan R. Windsor Mill, MD

About Nathan

I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I can teach just about any age and skill level and cover anything you are interested in learning; whether its a certain style, genre, technique or song. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are laid back, with a focus on perfecting the basics. Most students work out of a method book appropriate to their skill level. Aside from that we'll also spend time learning songs and pieces of the students choice. With the right amount of effort, you'll know your way around your instrument

Excellent lessons! Dr. Daniel W. has awakened new interest in music.
Lindsey A. Hanover, PA

About Lindsey

I teach lessons out of my home on Fridays. I have an acoustic upright piano in my home, seating inside and outside, and there is plenty of on street parking. Students need either an acoustic piano at their home or a weighted keyboard. Students are responsible for purchasing their own sheet music, whether through me or from a store or online. We can talk about what kind of music you like to play or want to learn to play and go from there. Usually for either a beginner adult or child, I recommend the Alfred piano series, along with a technique book to strengthen and limber up the fingers, and a "fun" piece ... something you specifically want to learn or challenge yourself with. My strongest abilities are in classical music, because that is what I have the most experience in, ...
