Hi! My name is Mike and I am 23 years old. I have been playing guitar now for about 10 years. I am a national touring guitar player in the band Letters From The Fire. You can hear us at facebook.com/lettersfromthefire or lettersfromthefire.net. We recently returned from a national tour with Fuel and 12 Stones. I have been on 4 major national tours and have played every state in the U.S. except Hawaii and Alaska.

I currently teach lesson in the South Bay Area, CA. My focus has been producing and song writing for film and television. I have taken it upon my self, as a product of the local music scene, to give back and help out younger bands get to the next level in the way they conduct themselves as musicians and in their songwriting.

I am also working with Ben Moody (ex. Evanescence) on score pieces for several movies. Music is my life and its everything I do.

With 30 years teaching experience, I'm friendly and interested in helping my students succeed in learning piano and theory and discovering the joys of playing all kinds of music.
I hold a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. My students participate in 1 or 2 recitals per year and receive awards for doing so.

Chris began his music venture at the age of 5 when his parents decided it would be a good idea to enroll him in piano classes alongside of his elder sister. Like many children who start out on the piano, Chris stopped the instrument only a few years after. It wasn't until a few years later that Chris picked up a guitar for the first time and absolutely fell in love with the instrument. He ended up learning the instrument well enough to play most songs on the radio by ear and went on to be the front for a house band of a local pub.
Hungry for more knowledge about the instrument and music in general, Chris began private lessons with highly sought after instructors and eventually enrolled in SJSU as a Music Major where he became sufficient in Music Theory. Though changing his educational pursuits, Chris continues private practice with various guitar virtuosi around the bay area.

Branden is a highly successful graduate in music with a concentration in composition and jazz performance, completing his degree in only three years. He is a passionate performer as well as a dedicated teacher. He was awarded Cum laude for his great academic achievement. Branden is an accomplished songwriter, composer, musician, and teacher. Originally born in Chicago, Branden is now based in San Jose area, playing random events throughout the South Bay.

Branden has been hired to play local gigs as well as a contract to tour with a jazz band. His experience in teaching guitar for the last three years has ranged from teaching elementary school classes to private lessons. He has shared the stage with Steve Tavlione and Scott Henderson.

I have played piano and studied its literature for over forty years. As a college undergraduate, I majored in Piano Performance and Music Theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music and The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. I also have a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts – Boston.

I am currently a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT).

I had graduated from Sobinov State Conservatory in Saratov, Russia with degrees in Choral Conducting, Music Theory and Piano Education. While in school, I was the lead conductor in numerous churches as well as music educator in local colleges.

My passion is to work with young children. I have been a dedicated piano instructor for over 10 years. In my teaching, I have incorporated different methods suitable for children as young as 3 years old, and busy teenagers. My purpose is to combine all techniques with lifelong extensive experience to help students become confident piano players, and develop a life-long LOVE and appreciation for music.

I am a classically-trained opera singer. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy (teaching), and have sung professionally in the U.S. and Europe. I have sung Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater and Concerts, as well as choral and cantorial singing. I have been a finalist and winner of vocal competitions in both the United States and Europe.
I have been teaching voice since 1980, and have worked with all ages of students. I have also directed and designed for musical theater and opera. Because I love singing, I want to bring that to my students as well, whatever kind of music they want to sing.

In addition to music, I also teach English (ESL), Accent Reduction, German, U.S. & World History. I have my CBEST Credential And ESL Certification. I do private tutoring and teach classes.

I have been playing with classical ensembles and rock bands since 2001. Even though I started on classical trombone and rock guitar, I have come to expand my repertoire to a variety of instruments and genres. During my time in college I performed with the University choir, orchestra, and band. I also have organized, wrote/arranged for, and performed with a variety of bands in my home state of New Mexico, as well as Japan, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since 2006 I have been an active teacher. This profession has taken me everywhere from working with classical guitar classes in New Mexico high schools to Elementary students in Japan to a variety of private students of various musical instruments and genres everywhere I've been. Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2010, I've had the pleasure of working with lots of great students from kids to adults with a wide range of ambitions. Music is the longest lasting love. I fell in love with music after listening to prayer songs as a child. One of my earliest memories is walking up to the pianist during a prayer and trying to play along. Shortly after that day, I was gifted a small keyboard, which I used to teach myself. Upon moving to the United States, at the age of 7, I started the search for a piano teacher. At the age of 10, I started private lessons and continued for three years. My teacher suffered some setbacks, and was unable to teach. I refused to take on any other teacher, and continued my classes myself. Around this time, I also started to teach young children. I have been drumming for 18 years and currently I am playing professionally in the Bay Area, after studying Music Performance at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA, and at California State, East Bay.

I am funny, friendly, outgoing, and I love to play drums, and have been teaching music for about 3 1/2 years now.

    I graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. Currently, I am an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of California. Also, I have fifteen years of teaching experience. My specialty is working with young children both in preschool and elementary school level. My goal in instruction is to teach students the enjoyment and appreciation of music, and at the same time to obtain the technical skills to reach their potential.  My goal for all of my students is to establish a strong musical foundation to meet their goals.  
 
       I enjoy teaching and seeing my students make progress in their music study. I use the Piano Adventure textbook which is a fun way for children to begin their music journey. I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythms, and performance skills. Students are encouraged to participate in the MTAC Branch Recital and CM certification program every year which is an excellent way for students to set goals each year.

I began my musical journey began when I picked up one of my grandfather's mandolins at the age of three. Soon after, I discovered that my grandfather had a guitar in his garage. I felt naturally drawn to the guitar, as though my hands were meant to play. I taught myself until the age of twelve, when I inquired about formal lessons with a guitar teacher from my church by the name of James Garcia. I have played with a number of groups throughout the bay area, including legendary saxophonist Bob Mintzer. I hold a degree in music and have studied with teachers such as James Garcia, Rich Hawthorne, Mike McKenna, Doctor Paul Setziol, and Ron Dunn. My goal is to ensure that each student leaves every lesson a better guitar player.
