I'm a musician, music producer, audio engineer, songwriter, & Texas certified music educator (EC-12). I was born & raised in Fort Worth, Texas, & I'm known for my unique "Synth/Moog/Coloring/Talkbox" keyboard & jazz-scat vocal techniques. Since the age of 15, I've been blessed to play/sing with some the music industry's most prolific artists. I have a serious passion for music & I'm the CEO of my own business, music production company, NMR PRODUCTIONS. I'm also a former music educator with the Fort Worth Independent School District, where I served for 8 months as a substitute, before accepting a head choral director position at Eastern Hills HS and Handley MS, where I served for 4 years. Due to health reasons, I resigned from FWISD. It was indeed a life decision, and in that, it's allowed me to pursue music full time, as a professional touring musician/artist/private music instructor.
I'm internationally known to many as "Ms.Music". My calling, purpose, & personal goal is to bring back the feeling of music and encourage/inspire people through the art of music. When I'm not traveling, I'm working on my debut album, "Elements of Me", which will be released soon & it will showcase more of my many talents. "Still Be Loving U", the highly anticipated single, is currently available on iTunes & the debut video is currently on my YouTube.com/NMRmusic channel.
During my 17 year career, I've played keyboards and/or sang background, on spot dates, with various national recording artists: Erykah Badu, Yarbrough & Peoples, Angela Blair, Clark Terry, Ralph Tresvant, Bernard Wright, Bad Boy Recording artist Cheri Dennis, Stokely Williams of Mint Condition, Cherish Love, Faith Anderson, Ted & Sheri, Terrace Martin (Music Director for Snoop Dogg & Kendrick Lamar), William Beckton, Madukwu Chinwah, Daryle Coley, Michael League of Snarky Puppy, Marvin Sapp, Darrell Blair, Candy West, Choklate, Carmen Rodgers, Quentin Moore, NERDBOI, Kirk Franklin, Crystal Akin, Dr. Tony Evans, Michael Bethany, Porsche Smith, Common Folk (Rickey Smiley band), & YahZarah.
In 2006, I auditioned for Beyoncé's all girl band, engineered for Gospel recording artist/Actress Tamela Mann in 2007; and, opened up for Bobby Brown, PJ Morton (keyboardist for Maroon 5) and others. In 2008, I auditioned, on keyboards, for Sean "Diddy" Combs' hit MTV sitcom, "Making His Band", which aired summer of 2009.
While working on my debut album, I also recorded a 3-song EP with my 5-piece all female band, Beauty & the Beats. Together we are bringing back funky, soulful, live music--with a bang! With inspirational elements from acts like Kylmaxx, Prince, PJ Morton, Robert Glasper Experiment, Aretha Franklin, & Weather Report--Beauty & the Beats is known to leave their audience raving for an encore! Beauty & the Beats recently performed a concert at The House of Blues in Dallas, TX on November 18, 2012--which was AWESOME!! I'll post come videos for you to see what I do.
