My name is Nicole D. I have over twenty years of teaching experience and began classical piano training at the age of 8 years old.
As a student, I participated successfully in yearly NYSSMA and National Music Guild competitions and recitals.
In college, I was the recipient of the first Ralph V. Ritchie Memorial Music Scholarship at Nassau Community College.
As a member of several original bands, musical projects and solo performance acts, I've played the piano/keyboard, wrote music/lyrics, sang lead and backup vocals or did a combination of the above.
During this time I worked closely with other advanced teachers and musicians to gain other methods, styles and techniques of music.
I'm patient, creative, positive and fun to work with and really enjoy teaching. I'm passionate about passing my love of music along to my students.

I began singing before I could even walk. I started choir when I was eight years old and never left. In high school I was part of the auditioned jazz choir, Soprano I section leader, assistant vocal coach and vice president of the TRI-M music honor society. In my senior year I was president of the drama club and played Mrs. Potts in "Beauty and the Beast". I have performed several times in the All-County chorus as well as at the Kennedy Space Center and Universal Studios in Orlando. Now I am a Music Education major at Adelphi University where I participate in the Opera Workshop! My students always come first and I strive to give them everything they need to succeed as musicians.

I began playing piano when I was 5 years old and have played ever since! I graduated from The Crane School of Music with a concentration in piano and have played in solo recitals, concerts, plays and have accompanied vocalists and instrumentalists. I'm an easy going, down to earth person who loves to teach by making the process fun. I have taught private lessons for 5 years to all ages and levels. My main goal is to share my love of music with my students. I truly believe that music is a unique form of self expression and can be used as an outlet for any situation in life. Music is something that belongs in everybody's life in some facet.

I hold an associates degree (NCC) in music performance, and will be graduating from Hofstra University with a bachelors degree in Music Education in May 2014. I am an experienced music teacher, and have found great results with a variety of teaching methods for students of all ages.

Russell F. is currently a freshman at New York University, majoring in Percussion Studies, and currently is studying with Professor Simon Boyar. He just recently graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School West. He has also graduated from the Juilliard Pre-College Program under the instruction of three teachers: Jonathan Haas, Pablo Rieppi, and Greg Giannascoli. He began studying drum set and rudimental snare drum at the age of seven, and began studying marimba and timpani in his sophomore year of high school. Russell has attended the New York Summer Music Festival and was a Music Staff Intern at the USDAN Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. This past February he placed second in the Percussive Arts Society Marimba Competition held at NYU’s Weekend of Percussion. He is currently active as a composer and performer in many NYU ensembles and is excited to pursue a career in percussion.

My love affair with music began in his childhood home in Israel, surrounded by European classical music and opera. When the 1960’s pop revolution started to filter onto Israeli radio from England, Sarel became captivated with the simplicity and lyricism of the Beatles. In 1989 Sarel began his jazz education at Berklee College of Music, where he began an intensive collaboration with Jerry Bergonzi, who encouraged and honed Sarel’s improvisational skills. I began to step out professionally while still a student, soloing in concerts with The Boston Afro-American Artist Association Festival and at the Lawrence and Alma Berk Recital Hall. Sarel moved to Budapest in 1994, and found an emerging Eastern European city. In 1995, I began to teach, play sessions and write. I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music.

It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospel troupes nationally. SInce then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. I train public speakers, actors and teachers as well.

I would not be the person I am today if music wasn't the focal point in my life as it is. Not only do I absolutely love performing and studying music myself, but I adore teaching as well. Part of the musical experience is taking what you hear and what you learn from others and building on it to create your own musical contributions. I take the gifts other teachers and musicians have given me very seriously and subsequently feel the great importance of imparting my knowledge unto others.

Whether you want to be a professional, or just be competent enough to enjoy yourself, we all practice, study technique and gain knowledge about music with really only one goal in mind: To have all the tools necessary to express ourselves adeptly through music. All the technique in the world will not make you a great musician. At the same time, you can be extremely creative and knowledgeable, but if you don't have the technique and vocabulary needed to express your ideas, you will find yourself...

As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeast later in life and even to China with a 1940's Radio Show. I enjoyed many top-level bands the kindled my love and passion for good music. I want to share that kindling with my students in a nurturing and guiding situation, just like my teachers gave me.
I used to go to lessons and become so motivated and inspired that I thought I could change the world. I always knew that I would want to give back exactly that. As my performance opportunities grew into venues like Churchill Grounds, The Eyedrum, The Rialto, and The Variety Playhouse in Atlanta and Radio City Music Hall and Flushing Town Hall in New York, my fire for wanting to develop my teaching did also. I've been playing violin since age 11. However, from the age of 8 I was hooked on music. I graduated high school from Dr. Phillips which had a Performing Arts Magnet program which I was a part of. I was soloist with the Dr. Phillips Chamber Symphony when we took a trip to Atlanta, Georgia where I performed the Theme from " Schindler's List."

I then went on to pursue my Bachelor's degree from Stetson University in Deland, Florida. My teacher was Routa Kroumovitch-Gomez a Moscow Conservatory graduate and former student of David Oistrakh. While at Stetson I was awarded the William E. Duckwitz award. I was also awarded the Baron Gee String Scholarship that made me also a member of the school's official string quartet. With the Barron string quartet I performed throughout Florida, playing for students as well as concert members. My senior year I performed Vivaldi's "Summer" from the Four Seasons at the Stetson University Chamber Orchestra concert.

Roland R was born and raised in New York City. He started playing drums at the ripe age of 12. Throughout his schooling, Roland was a member of Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, and Drum Corps. He eventually started to explore playing music outside of school with friends and independent musicians around New York City. Roland's teaching "career" started about 7 years ago, when his baby cousins took an interest in banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons. His interest in helping others develop their ability to express themselves eventually evolved into in-studio lessons with children and adults of all skill levels. Roland has volunteered for non-profit organizations and college now programs in the past. Through his experiences, he's grown accustomed to speaking in front of large groups of students.
