I was professionally trained in the Romero style of classical guitar and have studied with Robert Wetzel, Dr. Alexander Dunn, Celino Romero, Dr. Randy Pile, and Dr. Colin McAllister at Grossmont College, University of California San Diego, and Victoria Conservatory of Music. I have performed in numerous masterclasses including Antonio De Innocentis, Alexander Dunn, Gerd Wuestemann, Scott Wolf, and Jason Vieaux. I have also performed with various ensembles including the Grossmont, VCM, UCSD, Villa Musica, and SDSU guitar ensembles.

I have been teaching and performing in the San Diego area for many years and have used that experience to develop lessons for any level of player. My program emphasizes all around musicianship in addition to technical ability. Being a musician is more than simply learning repertoire. I help my students get the skills needed to be capable, independent performers. While studying at UCSD, I was awarded double honors for my work in Guitar Performance and Composition. In 2010, I was given awards for "Most Outstanding Graduating Senior" and "Outstanding Classical Music Performance". I have been teaching music for about 20+ years. I'm completely self taught aside from some brief schooling at Musicians Institute of Los Angeles. I have taught myself how to read and write out musical notation by observing other great musicians and my own private studying along the way. I have found that whether your doing session or jamming with a band, the key is to listen.

I am a graduate of UCSD, where I completed my bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. I have taken years of private lessons, played bass, guitar, and mandolin in local and touring bands, and released three albums of original music. I want to make your goals accessible.

I was introduced to the arts at a very early age. My mother gave me my father's harmonica around the age of four-years old. At that same age, I began drawing pictures by crayon, and then switched to ink pen. Drawing was my art until by the age of twelve I became interested in percussion from watching classmates practice their sticking technique on the cafeteria tables during their lunch period. The next year I enrolled into beginning band and quickly increased my talents to catch-up with my classmates by the next year.
