Henri B. Phoenix, AZ

About Henri

Aside from being mostly self-taught and playing drums since he could hold the pots and pans, Henri is an experienced, focused teacher and musician who really enjoys seeing students achieve their goals and desires musically. He has also studied privately with former Berklee Graduate Al Pahanish Jr (Powerman 5000), and former Capitol Records recording artist Morrison Moon.  He is a goal-oriented individual with a versatile background and a relaxed, "let's have fun while we learn" attitude. Henri believes music should always be fun and inspiring for everyone, no matter what skill level. FUN is always the focus, because if you are not having fun, why are you doing it?  Henri also has years of experience touring both nationally and internationally with several award-winning Arizona-based ...

Henri is an excellent teacher! I have been a teacher myself for more than 15 years and I recommend him without reservation. He works with my daughter who is five years old and she is always excited about her lessons. She is making excellent progress and is eager to do more. She feels well-supported by Henri who encourages her to take risks with her playing while making her feel that she is doing a great job. Music lessons with this teacher are well worth the money and an excellent investment. We are lucky to have found him!

Great teacher!

Henri is great!! He is a super experienced and knowledgable drummer (musician) and teacher. He is extremely patient, has taught me my basics, technique, and is very open to teaching what you want to learn, willing to teach you what you are really interested in musically. At the end of every lesson, he reviews what we learned, writes it and lets me video it so I can practice at home. He has been really flexible, patient, laid back and always down to work on whatever you want but great at coming up with lessons that challenge and excite you as well. I could'nt be more pleased with Henri as a teacher. I always look forward to my lessons.

Great experience!

My 7 yr old has been taking drum lessons with Henri for aobut 2 months. He is always excited to go, and never wants to leave at the end. He is learning rhythms and other drum basics. Henri is great at keeping him on track, but allowing for enough fun/free play as well. It is great that Henri has two drum kits so they can both play the whole lesson.
Andrew A. Tempe, AZ

About Andrew

My name is Andrew, and I've been a musician nearly my entire life. I have a Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance from Arizona State University, but my background goes far beyond classical music. My performance experiences range from playing violin in my high school symphony orchestra to playing lead guitar in a Santana cover band, and just about everything in between! As a teacher, you can expect me to be positive and encouraging. My biggest goal is to inspire you and help you discover a similar passion for music as I've developed over the years. *** Lesson Details *** While I do expect students to practice consistently, I always do my best to tailor the lesson plans to their wants as well as their needs so practice is both fun and challenging. I cannot say enough great things about Ginni. I started having an interest in piano back in 2008 and stumbled across her profile on the take lessons website. I saw her for a few months and got really busy with my career that I had to take some time off. A few months back I remembered how much I loved taking lessons with her so now I am back to seeing her. The wonderful things about Ginni is that she is very encouraging, she can adapt to any teaching style(sometimes I can be a bit ADD and she tries different ways of teaching until she finds a way in which I am able to retain the information) she is very accommodating, and she makes learning enjoyable which is sometimes difficult to find with instructors. We laugh a lot when i'm in my lessons :) (I like to call the rest symbol a lightning bolt) if you are looking for a great teacher that you can connect with and makes you love learning piano then Ginni is the teacher for you! Happy learning!

Starting music lessons so late in life, my first piano lesson with Ginni was wonderful. She made me feel very relaxed and confident. Her abilities as an instructor are gentle but firm. Thank you Ginni. I am looking forward to many more lessons.

About Nanette

I started studying piano and singing from a very young age. I used to make my friends come over and watch me perform (karaoke style--before karaoke was big) when i was in the 4th grade. My greatest love is music, performing music, and sharing it with others. As a singer i have studied all types of music, but my favorite- and what i excel at- is opera. I have taken private voice and piano lessons constantly since the age of 5, and have studied opera performance and music theory in college. I perform locally around the community as a singer, direct the church choir, and occasionally accompany soloists on the piano. I have taught private lessons in voice and piano for 5 years and i greatly enjoy the one on one experience of teaching private lessons. *** Lesson Details *** I

Jeffrey O. Phoenix, AZ

About Jeffrey

My Price: There are a lot of people on this site who teach lessons; I've looked through profiles...and their prices. Many of them do not have degrees in music and/or their lessons are expensive. I am a professional musician and educator with the lowest rates I can afford. My pricing is low to be competitive and does not in any way reflect the quality of the lesson. I believe good lessons should be affordable to everyone at a weekly basis. My Teaching Experience: I have taught general music K-8 in a charter school and basically had to build a music program with no funding and almost no supplies. I left this job in favor of teaching privately because the staff and administration were horribly disrespectful and unappreciative of what I did for their school. Teaching privately ...

Dr. Jeff has helped bring music back in my life. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano and had been trying to teach myself because of my past experience (played trumpet from elementary school– 2 yrs of collage). Learning that way was not ideal though and I was really not progressing at all. I finally decided to start lessons and I can’t tell how grateful I am that I did. Dr. Jeff has helped me learn and practice correctly and I really feel that I am progressing well. I am having so much fun learning and playing.

I have been bringing my daughter to the piano lessons of Jeff for the last six months. I've seen my daughter able to follow his instructions and accomplish the lessons, but most important is the fact of seeing Jeff focused in passing the information to her each lesson. She can be talkative and distracted at her early age, but he has managed to get her attention well. Jeff has shown me his commitment and engagement to his teachings, his patience with my daughter and someone who is not rushing every lesson. He has been always flexible to my schedule, very professional and his prices are very good compared to other options.

My 8 year old granddaughter had been taking lessons for approximately 3 years from a teacher she/we loved ♡ so changing instructors was not something we wanted to do. Jeff has been awesome! Patient does not truly describe his personality :) Our family is extremely pleased with her new level of excitement and commitment for the piano...what a blessing finding Jeff has been. Thank YOU Jeff!
