If you are interested in taking piano/keyboard, guitar or voice lessons...I would really like to be your music instructor! I will travel to your home, hoping to make it more convenient for those students that would like their lesson after school hours. You are also welcomed to my home music studio each week for your lesson, conveniently located in Anaheim.
To tell you a little about myself, I was raised in a musical family introduced to music at a very young age.
I took piano, organ, guitar, glockenspiel, and voice lessons for many years, and participated in music recitals.
I enjoyed singing, and with my music theory background, participated in vocal/piano recitals, involved myself in every school musical, joined every choir, participated in out-of-state voice sight reading competitions, and ultimately joined the New York All State Choir.
After graduating from school, I focused on teaching children how to read sheet music and play the piano and guitar within parochial schools, public elementary schools, private in-home lessons, and instructed adults for the Continuing Education Music Programs located within Rockland County, New York and Orange County, California.
Today, I teach privately in my students homes and my home music studio, and privileged to share music with special education students on a weekly basis.
I look forward to meeting you and getting you started on your way to a lifetime of music fulfillment.

I have taught private guitar, piano, bass and drum lessons since the late 70s in Salt Lake City, where I majored in jazz guitar performance, and since 1980 in Los Angeles. I make the lessons fun. Some of my students have received college scholarships and won cash prizes for music contests. All of them had fun while learning and improving on their instruments.

While most 5 year olds were singing along to silly songs, I was entranced by the tribal drumming in the Michael Jackson's "Will you be there". When most Junior High student were listening to, well, whatever made them "cool", I was thinking of what John Lennon meant in his lyrics for "Strawberry Fields Forever." I have always had a deep passion for music that goes beyond the surface. I connect with the very soul of music.
Writing my first song at the age of 7, the creative fire began to use music to express what no other form of communication could. Struggling with the limitations of my vocal abilities at the age of 16, I decided to intensify my study of the voice, taking hundreds of private lessons in such techniques as Bel Canto Vocal Technique, Speech Level Singing(TM), Progressive Vocal Techniques(TM), and others, as well as reading dozens of books and hundreds of research articles on the mechanisms of the voice. While attending (and eventually graduating from) San Diego State University with a B.A in Music, I played hundreds of live shows, most of them coming from a residency in the heart of the historic Gaslamp District of San Diego, honing my skills as a vocalist, pianist, and guitarist. On the other side of the sound board, as an engineer, I have had the opportunity to work with such greats as Jefferson Starship, Hiromi Uehara, Dave Mason among others at one of San Diego's premier live venue "Anthology."
Since starting my love for composition at 7, I continues to write and record, not only singing, but playing guitar, bass guitar, piano/keys, drums, mandolin, and harmonica, as well as producing and engineering, and mixing the session himself. I am an actively gigging musician on Vocals, Piano, Guitar and Bass.
I have played professionally since age 13 and earned a BA in music at Illinois State University. I play all styles from classical to country, rock, blues, soul. I am best known as a Hammond organist and have one in my home studio.

To those that wonder- if she is so great then why is she teaching?! Well, my goal in life has always been- to make my income as a musician. In my early years I DID IT-- I was successful as a back up singer with Rod Stewart, Julio Iglesias and others. Then I did receive a recording contract with 3 CDs out with the GEFFEN label and then I became a HAS BEEN that never really was;-) I wish I had someone like me- teaching the stage presence, how to hold a microphone!, how to confidence with my singing and playing EVERY day and build on it. And the music business itself! So I have a WEALTH of knowledge to share for YOUR benefit and maybe some current networks to get you to be successful with YOUR hopes and dreams in music too!
Dream, but ACT on those dreams so you have NO regrets. Those who can DID and NOW they teach;-)
My passion for music and teaching goes way back when I wrote my first song at age 9 about an American Indian girl- I HAVE NO INDIAN BLOOD IN ME- but somehow I felt a connection- possibly something I learned at school or on TV. That experience- it changed and improved the evolution of my maturing through today. I was able to express my thoughts and facts I have learned through a song! Musical instruments- I played the guitar and piano on that first recording and my voice; and wrote out the lyrics and music notes! It gave me such confidence in myself. I felt I had achieved a great deal and won some educational contests and received great respect from my teachers.
Having the skill, experience and desire to share these forms of expressions with others is my goal in life. Music has helped me overcome sad times and enjoying great times. Also, still gives me a wonderful income! Music brings memories to those whom have lost all their memory. Music is the greatest form of emotional and physical therapy as I have learned by assisting those in the hospital. It helps all ages of my students focus, relieve anxiety about exams, have a way to give a gift when no other can be found or purchased, and to express their suppressed emotions in a way that brings joy---and anger disappears or at least neutralizes:-)
